Window Comments
American Craftsman (Anderson owned I believe) 8500 series window has a design flaw in the full size window screen. When you pull on the tabs to remove the screen and/or insert the screen, the tabs tend to break off. I actually demonstrated the problem to a Home Depot Manager when I went to pick up a new window that had been previously ordered by me. This has occurred on over 6 windows I bought through the Home Depot. Amercian Craftsman's response to the problem was that they will ship new screens with same tabs. They state they can not change the design. Hello, they have other windows that utilize different designs. So everytime a screen needs to be removed from a window the chances are good you may need to order a new screen. This is craziness. I have attempted to address the issue with American Craftsman directly and through the Home Depot to no avail. I have spent too much time on this problem and I do not want others to experience the same problem.
