Marvin Windows was twice as expensive as the next luxury brand but I was not impressed by their quality. For an average large home that might consider Marvin windows and doors could mean the difference between $60K to $30K. The hand-made selling point was a joke. Hand made means human errors. Our windows had some hand made dents in the wood and missed placed caulking. The natural sap from the wood is still leaking out causing a mess after 3 years. The warranty is stressful compared to Milgard windows in our other home. Milgard just comes out to your home in one phone call and get it all done. We splurged on retractable window screen on 4 windows. 3 of them already broke. One time the service tech came out to fix it and dropped a hammer on our stairs causing a dent. Second time it is taking 2 months and counting to get a replacement retractable screen. I placed the request with our retailer and had to call him 3 times. He keeps saying it will be soon or they put down the wrong phone number. I finally took the initative to find and call the distributor-BMD where the part was coming from. BMD said they called me but never did left any messages. Nobody answers call from unidentified callers these days with so much spam calls. So I just ask them to send me the part to install myself. BMD said I would get it the part next day. Of course that never happened. Called a second time to BMD to see why I did not get the part, they said it was a logistic issue on the computer. This time they said I would get it in 2 days. As of writing this review it has been 2 months and no part replacement part yet.

Bay window installed 2 years ago. Definite cold air leak in lower part of each of the 4 casements. I actually have a photo of a dual thermometer showing the room temp at 69 degrees and the seat of the bay window at 29 degrees. Marvin techs have been out twice and can't find a problem other than finding the cable system was never installed.

Window was supposed to be an all wood custom French casement window, but turned out to not fit the opening (smaller), not all wood (plastic/vinyl trim) that could not be stained. Paid extra for fancy locking handle, that doesnt fit and Marvin wont replace. Very disappointed.

We used Marvin Windows in a very large house. They are Crap! They rot every year. We spend thousands of dollars on maintaing them every year. Do not buy any Marvin Windows. We live in the South and the wood they use is not made for this climate. STAY AWAY FROM MARVIN WINDOWS, UNLESS YOU WANT ROTTING WINDOWS ALL THE TIME!

We have been replacing the Marvin Windows and doors in our home since we finished building the house 15 years ago. The first fixed doors were replaced withing the year of completion due to rotting out. I have had to replace three more windows. The company only assisted with the first replacement but refused to help when the replacement window showed rot within the first year. They now will no return my calls.

I am very disappointed to find out that Marvin will not honor their warranty, and refuses to replace a defective part in the locking mechanism of my French Casemaster window, which broke within the warranty period. Not only that, but they are charging me $69 for what should be a $2 part!!!
