Window Comments

The windows leak air! Their slogan is: "Simply the best for less". Phooey. "EnergyStar glass" doesn't offset bad window design. The side channels let outside air flow up and into the room! There is no way to install weatherstripping to fight this air flow.(I've tried!) Rainwater pools in the windowframe or trickles down to holes on the outside. These holes are plugged with small "gates" that easily fall out and get lost. Also, some windows' slide attachments have come loose, so the windows tend to slide closed.

They started to put the windows in place with just caulk! I insisted they use at least one screw per side!! They might not have used ANY screws, otherwise.

Price Information

We bought 23 windows (Series 6000, their "best") for $259 each. Plus, $59 each for exterior trim & filling weight boxes with insulation.
