This is a review for much older windows than most of you have. However, problems were from day 1. We had 2 phases of window replacements which included the entire windows and new framing since we changed sizes. The 1992 replacements were fine. The 1998 windows is what I'm writing about. After spending $18000 on windows/installation it is disappointing that from the get go there were problems with the blinds between the glass. The don't work! I've had the knobs changed under warranty and no better. Pella didn't come out to the house w/o charging for service call!!! Last year we did some renovating and had to open all the casements to air out the house. And every casement had its parts falling off. We had never really opened the windows before... The weather-stripping attached to the casement that swings out, which is a thin piece of wood with a metal strip at the end, just fell off all the windows. I called Pella and they said not covered under warranty! Really! Working with them to get this resolved. Final comment. When you spend this kind of money on windows, they shouldn't have pieces falling off when there is no wear and tear and they should have better warranty coverage w/o charging customers to come to the house. We have rental properties with Anderson wood windows that are 25 years old and still no problems - I hate to say...

I hate these Pella glass sliding doors so much! I made the big mistake to buy the doors with the blinds inside. They say that it is so easy to open the glass inside to clean. I don’t think so! Shall I tell you about the roller screens? Do not buy if you are located in a very windy area! You would think the sales people would tell you that when you buy them. The whole top and bottom of the screen bows out preventing you from closing it without bunching up. Also and at night when you want to close the door to lock up you have to open the screen first and let all the bugs come in. Just plain ingenious! I actually had a repairman tell be to go out the other door in the kitchen to close the slider.

Current issue with with the door - cover on the fiberglass has faded in spots and has come off the door. While the part is free, actually applying the cover is not. The door is only 3 years old. The "lifetime", 20-year and 10-year warranties only cover what is reported by the end of year 2. Go figure.

Installed by Pells of VA

Lots of issues. Took almost a year to complete the installation - replacing our windows and doors. No we don't live in a mansion, a 2500 sf ranch.

$59,225 Wouldn't you think you could get a door panel replaced after spending that kind of money?

We had trouble with the 70 windows installed in our new home from the start. Now, they have begun rotting. When the service rep observed the poor function of the between window blinds, he volunteered to repair them. However, we later heard from the company that since we had "replaced all the string in the blinds with non-Pella equipment", they were not responsible for the repair. We certainly did not re-string all the blinds in our house, but they insist we must have done so. Unbelievable. We are now buying all new windows for our home-but never Pella again!! Don't go near these windows ever!!

14 windows installed. All leak down the back of window on wall. Water damage present. In winter brick under windows freezes frost on brick. Ha been in contact with pell a since winter 2010. After several pella techs and corporate rep they are planning to try and repair all 14 windows! Class act lawsuit is going on in iowa for the same reason. Very disappointed. Would not recommend!

The windows are a little expensive and seem to be good quality. However in my book, Pella gets extremely low marks when it comes to accurately filling and shipping a order in a timely manner. In my case this has delay my construction project over a month and we are still waiting on windows. (I ordered 14 windows. 12 of the windows showed up 2 weeks late. 2 of the windows completely disappeared and had to be re-ordered. And Pella can not give me a dilevery date on these.) Bottom line, Good windows, but beware. You are going to pay more for the windows, and you might end up paying a LOT more in construciton delays.
