I purchased six, new, Gorell replacement windows in 2003. I am aware of their recent financial issues. Therefore, I no longer have any of my "Lifetime Warranty" I received with my windows & I am extremely upset. I can't understand how Soft-Lite can take over Gorell, through bankruptcy, retain the same name, factories, processes etc., build & sell the same product. However, they didn't assume any of the liability, so unfortunate customers, like myself, are left holding the bag. I am experiencing some issues with one of the lower sashes, so I inquired about a replacement. Unfortunately, the "identical", new, replacement doesn't come with a warranty. I think this should be published under testimonials so new customers know what they may be in for in the next ten years or so!!!

had two Gorell 5100 windows get spots between the panes of glass. I got replacements for free but they will only send replacements to the installer. Paid $65 for labor but all windows sweat along the frames.

I was impressed with 1) The quality of their vinyl. Brighter/Whiter than other brands I reviewed. 2)Their balance system. The "constant force" balance creates more leverage on the double-hung sash, and better ease of use.

They knew their craft. Quick and efficient. One of the wraps was very problematic because it abutted a corner of the house. A less experienced crew member started the wrap but his work had to be removed and restarted by the veteran of the crew. (It eventually came out great, so not a problem)
The price is what sold me. I replaced 22 windows with Gorell's 5100 TRIPLE-PANE for under $12,000. (Price included installation, grids, and PVC wrap)

I have 28- 5100 series armor+ac glass, 9- 5100 series 5101 ac glass and 4 series 5100 plain glass. As of today 8-1-11 I have had to replace 58 sashes with the ac glass (lowE). Not a happy camper. my savings on evergy were eaten up with service calls to replace the sashes which Gorell provides.

My windows have been awesome! My utility bills have been reduced by over a 1/3 and I can not hear traffic noise when they are closed. No more drafts, uneven hot spots or problems. The warranty is awesome as well. I could not be more pleased with the windows or the company that installed them.

I purchased 19 Gorell 5100 Series windows for my Alexandria VA home. I have been very impressed with them so far.

They gave me a great deal on my windows, very smooth and easy process.
DDR was $100 Cheaper then the other 3 estimates I recieved.
