I had 22 Gorell windows installed in my new home construction; now they are hazing really bad. They appear to be very dirty. I have contacted both Beckley Insulation @Beckley, WV and Softlite Gorell. Both deny me the warrenty I was promised

We had Gorell windows installed in the spring if 2007. Until a year ago we were very happy with them and even recommended them to other members of our family. We have two windows that have lost their seals and are streaked and dirty looking. Don't believe in lifetime warranties--it is the lifetime of the company not the house or the occupants. What a bummer!

Put in 5 new Gorell Windows in our home. They were not cheap. Now they are getting spots in between panes and we just found out the Gorell Warranty is no good any longer. No one will honor warranty and installer could care less we are screwed.

We got paperwork that stated our windows had a life time warranty.. but no one is living up to the warranty. Installer could care less they sold us a product that is faulty.

We bought all new replacement windows from Gorell. Then the company went bankrupt. Soft-Lite, LLC bought them and now will not honor the warranty. I am screwed! I don't know anything about Soft-Lite, LLC but they just charged me $25 just to give me a quote for a new sash!!!! BEWARE!

Do not use this Installer for anything. He would not come fix problems that he created. I ended up paying someone else to fix his work.
Soft-Lite just charged me $25 just to get a quote!!!!

They installers were just the most wonderful two young men and did a great job of putting the windows in and cleaning up after themselves as far as the company goes they seem to be on the up and up and now they are out of business just our luck

Beware we had 20 windows installed and looked great. After a couple of years the company that installed them is out of business as most of them. The warrant. Is basically no good. Our windows are going bad one at a time and nobody cares.

We had 17 Gorell 5300 series Double Hung windows installed and couldn't be happier. They are a superior product to every other window we looked at. Some of these negative reviews seem to be with an installer or sales company that has gone out of business. That's not Gorell's fault. And, as I understand it, Gorell was purchased by Soft Lite who is keeping the Gorell name and window. According to the customer service representative at Soft Lite, they WILL honor my Gorell warranty to the letter.
A little more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for. We are EXTREMELY happy.

Spent a lot of money replacing our windows with Gorell Armour Glass Plus back in 2007. Three windows have sinced failed and mold is growing between the panes. Installer went out of business and now apparently Gorell is in receiver ship and will not honor their warranty. So now I have to buy the windows again. I can tell you I won't be buying Gorelle or Soft-Lite when we start building our new house.

Saginaw, Michigan area. Had 19 windows installed in 2007. All the upstairs windows facing North have bubbles in the coating, so they look like crap. Company that installed no longer in business. So far, no help from Gorell on resolving the problem. Warranty appears to be worthless, plywood will look much better.

Crappy job, gaps, breezes around outside of windows when done.
Way too much for the money.

I had Gorell windows installed and had several problems with the quality of the windows. But, the following info is for any insulated glass windows: Use a dual thermometer (refrig and freezer type) and check each window by placing the detector in the corner of the window and the other just outside the window opposite of the other (I used the plastic window stop). There may be discrepancies in the readings; meaning low or insufficient e-gas as I experienced with Gorrell windows.

The windows are expensive and I have had hazing problems to the point I cannot even see clearly out of the windows. Large slider windows are not balanced properly to move with ease. I am currently. I do like the window look, and believe my issues can be resolved by the company if they do honor their warranty. That would help.
Installed by All American Windows of AL
Issues I will not go into. Sorry he would not personally resolve my issues and commumicate with me to rectify my dissatisfaction rather than using the court system. I have no ill feelings, and believe overall good company. Hurricane Katrina may have stressed us all and emotions ran high and economy tight. I still believe the company can do a good job with warranty work when I get to that step--soon, I hope.
Very overpriced and I learned the profit margin is huge. I was between a rock and a hard place due to Hurricane Katrina and my needing windows ASAP and this company was able to help me with that. Other issues arose with installer and I have paid dearly. The windows are the worst looking windows in all America.

Gorell Windows beat every other window in every category. Ease of operations, features and every moving part, glass, gas seal and vinyl comes with a true 50 year warramty. On top of all that , the installers were 1st rate professionals and did a fast, excellent and clean job. Every body putting in wndows should use these guys.

They did everything that they said and gave me a release of Lein at the end of the installation.
Not the cheapest window but the biggest bang for my buck. I definetly got every penny that I paid for.

Beware I installed these windows and Gorell does not make replacement easy they mail you the parts and you have to pay for repair if their window fails. The lock on the 5300 is a hazard the glass sweats and superspacer is much better glazing. Delivery is erratic too. Really poor company to do business with you are bettr off with Simonton or softlite

My wife and I lost EVERYTHING in Katrina several years ago... except the windows! They survived!

We had recently replaced the 30 year old windows with Gorell 5300 from a reputable dealer. (He ONLY sold Gorell, as he insisted they were the best!) Not only did they survive the storm, that dealer came to my house to check on us about a month later and insisted on changing all the hardware FREE OF CHARGE! Unbelievable. You get what you pay for!
Approx. 500$ per window! Not cheap, but the outside noise was cut 80% EASILY along with ALL THE PROMISED heating and cooling advantages!

After looking at 4 different manufacturers for replacement windows, we chose Gorell. We have had Gorell 5300 series windows for 13 months and could not be happier. Our energy(nat. gas)bill has gone down almost 20% and no more drafts in the bedrooms. They look great and function flawlessly. Plus a 50 year warranty against breakage is great!

I installed Gorell sliders for a customer in MN a few years back and guess what? The windows actually leaked into the customers house during a heavy rain... more than once! What was more frustrating was that the company did nothing but talk around the issue and so I was stuck with giving the customer $4,000 off the whole job.

The windows helped lower my energy bills substanaly. They have a full 50 yr. warranty parts and accidental glass breakage. Could not be happier!

Installation took less than a day. Everyone was very polite and answered all my questions. Even came back to make sure everything was satisfactory. Great job.
By saving over 40% on average on my energy bill, and saving on my homeowners ins. the cost of the windows only gets better.

These windows are the best built I have seen. They have really made the difference. Our house is cooler in the Summer and warmer in the Winter. We got what we paid for. What a difference it has made!
