Worst windows I ever had!! Cranks falling off (half of the windows that still have cranks on don't work) I have 32 failed seals, locks don't work on have the windows and some of the vinyl cladding has fallen off the windows because they leaked and the wood is now rotten!!! What warranty??? I called several times while the warranty was still in effect and they stall until they are no longer covered. Every time I called it was a new person and they had no record of me calling the previous (numerous) times!!!! Unbelievable company. Worst customer service I have ever come across and they don't stand behind their products. I have doors from them also that don't lock. I have Velcro strips on them to keep the French doors shut in the living room and the breakfast room! My advice is to stay clear of these people unless you just have money to throw away. We should file a class action suit people.

I had an all new Jeld-Wen casement window installed in my bathroom 3 years ago. It has performed flawlessly and been a terrific improvement over the old double hung. I have a couple of nit-picks. 1) the crank doesn't clear the frame enough and can be a bit awkward. However, it's folding design gets it nicely out of the way when not in use. 2) The lock (a long 'sliding' handle along the side of the frame) does not have enough clearance and creates an arc scratch on the frame from locking/unlocking. But with those problems, I would still do it again in a heartbeat. This one is aluminum clad wood, factory painted dark green. -- I expect it will last a very, very long time. Oh yes, and the screen is excellent and easy to install and remove.

I purchased my house when it was 12 years old. All but a couple of the JenWeld windows has failed. I replaced all casement windows, but my picture windows have all rotted and the glass has fallen into the bottom, even leaving gaps across the top. I have tried emailing JenWeld and the refuse to help.

16 windows in the house and 8 have MAJOR issues. All have cracked and split sashes, one has a broken crank component so the window isn't operable, 3 have locks that will not lock, one has a gap so wide I seal with duct tape in Winter, 4 have vapor leaks, the brackets broke on 1 on the second story leaving it hanging by one screw. I have had problems with the windows from occupancy on home only 8 years old. No help from builder, supplier, or manufacturer. Also several screens were ripped at time of install, was promised replacements that never came.

Installer came out once 8 years to fix some windows. He was an extremely miserable man, unhappy with his life and job, and also told me....just don't open the windows!
