Really disappointed. We started replacing our windows and 1 door a few months ago with casement windows, the hinges were so loose that the winds would just blow the window around, do not recommend them if you live in areas that receive high winds. They changed out two window hinges but it has been months and we are still waiting for the others, when they did this they cut the bottom section of window and have yet to replace it therefore I am stuck waiting to stain and seal them since the final pieces still not in place. New hinges improved but not great, still a lot of play in windows. Service is really slow and unreliable, very disappointing, we have only done half out home and will now switch to another company due to our disappointment. None of my windows are done, I now have to hire someone outside of Pella to finish them.

Double hung Pella pro line windows were installed in 2003. I recently broke the glass when trying to tilt the upper sash in. Tried multiple times to contact Pella but all you can do is leave messages. Finally found out on my own there was no way to replace the glass??? I spent 4 hours picking out the glass and had to cut the frame at the corners to install new glass I ordered myself and installed. Pella has zero customer service. Good luck buying anything from them. I tell everyone I know that the best thing to do is go to a window repair shop and get their opinions as to what is the best window and don't buy anything you can't easily replace the glass in.

The rotting of the wood at the bottom section of the window near the aluminum clad is common. This condition has caused a class action law suit against Pella that has gone to the Supreme Court with the ruling to include all customers of this window. Read the law suit for further info and possible joining the class action.

Good installation but there is a design problem with the wiper seal that allows wind and rain to get past it.

These windows ROT under the aluminum especially on the bottom of the actual window.Ours are 12 years old and the first one that rotted out was 5 years ago. It is not incorrect installation, it is a bad design that allows condensation to form UNDER the aluminum cladding.Lack of a sealant in the mitered corners contributes to moisture problem. Replacing the glass portion now costs more than we paid for the entire window originally. NOT to mention install charges.A huge Marvin window with aluminum clad exterior installed a couple years earlier in the same home does not have moisture problems.Since windows are a major improvement in a home, I would NOT recommend Pella.

condensation and ice on the inside of the windows since we moved in our new home 9 years ago. called th ebuilder he gave us bull like too many showers, you cook too much blah, blah. Contacted pella and found 4 windows had rot. These were replaced under warrenty last summer. All winter still neede to scrap the ice off the inside of windows daily when temps went below 20. I was told to paint the bottoms andall wood on the frame by the tech they sent out last summer. Now they tell me since I painted the bottoms it is hard to tell if there is rot. I hasver never been so disguisted with a product. proline windows are a total failure.

Our windows have never sealed. They are nearly 3 years old and the finish is already pealing from the inside because of the moisture that comes inside when it snows and/or rains.

The installation was done in a professional way. The windows were installed in a timely, clean fashion. The water seeps inside through the corners of the windows where the sashed come together as they are double hung windows. Pella claimed that they were "installed incorrectly" but their installers did the work. We have found out over they years that Pella always claims installation error every time their products show a manufacturing defect. Stay away from Pella products as they will not last and who wants to install new windows every 8-10 years.

Our windows were priced with other windows, but now that we have had such poor quality windows, we know that we paid way to much for this junk product.

From the very first winter in my new home, my windows condensated like old single glaze windows. Now the wood has rotten. To think I actually paid more for these casement windows because they were supposed to be better is absolutely disgusting. Now they need to be replace and new windows are now double the cost they were when I built my home and I can’t afford the repair. I am sick to my stomach and wish I had purchased those cheap vinyl windows. At least they would not be rotten. This country is getting exactly what it deserves.

We built our house 9 yrs. ago thinking that Pella windows would last but from day one the windows in the winter months sweat and dam up with ice. I have sanded them and conditioned the wood put stain and polyurathane.I opened window and couldn't get it closed while trying to figure it out I noticed the bottom of window frame is dry rotted .So i contacted the company that my builder bought the windows from and the only thing they could do is sell me a new window frame with glass couldn't just sell me a frame without glass so 156.06 dollars later I find out Pella Window that put my trust in 9 yrs. ago will not stand behind there product or the company my builder purshased them throught. I will most likely have more to replace as a consumer this really makes me angry.

In my experience, I would NOT recommend Pella. I've had many issues, such as seal failure and cladding problems (among other problems), with my Pella Architect Series windows and doors installed throughout my home 1995. Please check out this website, detailing the various window and door failures/defects: www.onlinelitigationdiscovery.com Also feel free to share any similar experiences on my website.

What a crappy window 15 year old window. Every winter since I first had them installed I've regretted buying them. The therm properties are simply awful....I get condensation and even ice on the inside and I do not use my humdifier. The are simply crapolla. Don't buy them...I would take them again even if they were free. Then talking to Pella about the problem results in a bunch of BS from them about "there's nothing wrong with the window"....BS.

Installed Pella ProLine double hung windows in new home in NW Ohio 10 years ago. I had 8 windows replaced under warranty do to rot on the inside. The windows are now out of warranty and several more are showing signs of rot. I faithfully put fresh poly on the frames annually but they are still rotting. I will never install another Pella product.

After about 8 years, I noticed dark spots on the inside of the windows. By the time I realized the windows were rotting, one had nearly rotted through. On two of the windows, the aluminum cladding fell off at the bottom. I would not recommend these windows, nor would I buy them again.

Have had the windows in one year and have had no problems. Excellent fit, easy use and clean, good appearance. Installers were fairly priced (less than Pella) and pleasant doing a good job although clean up was a bit weak.

Very poor quality. Snow blew in one window all winter long, it does not close right, obviously manufactured wrong. Local Cedar Rapids dealer refused to make good on it, said (without ever seeing it) that it was installed wrong. It is a triple casement, one section is way different then the rest, looks like the factory installed the hinges way too far out. It actually let a snowdrift form on the ledge inside the house. Repeated calls to the dealer did not result in anyone comeing to look at it, they insist that it is installed wrong - by their installer!!!!! This problem would have been obvious at the factory if anybody would have looked, suspect that they have this problem a lot, judging from their lack of interest in trying to fix it. I finally just caulked the bad section shut, my only recourse is: A lawsuit B writing it on message boards!

Husband and I built home and chose Pella because it was a local company and of their so-called "reputation" for quality. Reputation must have been based on products from long ago because the quality of these windows is terrible. I wouldn't put them in my house again if they were offered for FREE! These windows started rotting out after 5 yrs. We would open them and could not get them closed again because they were so rotten that they would detach from the hardware because there wasn't any wood left under the aluminum molding. Water leaks down between the glass and the aluminum molding. We have had several replaced because they are under 10 yrs old but I don't think a house this new should have rotting windows. My husband and I have now decided not to put anymore Pella windows back into our home. When any more rot, WARRANTY OR NO WARRANTY, they will be replaced with another brand. AVOID PELLA PRODUCTS. Not worth the money.
