The horizontal members of my double-hung Polybau vinyl windows began sagging about 3 or 4 years after installation. The seal between the double panes on some windows opened, allowing for and moisture formation after 6 years. Then the vendor (Polybau) went out of business in N. California, thus negating all warranties. Strongly advise to avoid this brand at any price.

The vinyl windows are have been breaking down over the last 6 years & are to the point of getting brittle. The drain caps in the windows have been falling out from the start & are now to the point of denigrated & no way to get them replaced. I also am having issues getting ahold of some one in Northern California to address the windows looked at &/or fixed under the warranty. These were installed by a contractor for the Window Broker who took it upon him self to re measure my windows & change the order to fit his easiest way of installing them not the way I wanted them installed so they fit the exact window opening. this would have taken the contractor extra time to remove the old windows back to the point of the original window opening. when I asked the installer why he was installing the windows the way he was he said that was the only way he could do it. The installer also did not use enough foam along the side of the windows to stop the heat/cooling lose from happening. This caused my windows to build up Mold around the from the moisture build up due to the heat/cooling losses.

Stated in above comment.
Price was about $100.00 cheaper than the aluminum framed ones I was looking at that was in the same R factor & warranty factor Grade.

poor sealing between top and bottom sash, the seal becomes damaged (it's made of vinyl) and the bottom window will not close properly

Polybau advertises "virtually noiseless" windows. We are not even close to the freeway and can hear the freeway through the windows. We were not even informed of "argon" gas for the windows. The slider in the kitchen does not open all the way. Screens are very cheap and not of quality showed us. Would not recommend this company. Have called them with no response.

Two windows were not "shimmed" straight.
Yes, they did not give individual window prices just one GRAND total verbally telling us we received 70% off.
