These windows maybe top quality with regards to energy efficiency, but fail miserably with regards to noise. After having 9 windows and 2 sliding doors installed, my house now has a continuos humming sound coming from the windows. Sort of like holding a seashell up to your ear. Also, all outside noises are louder now than with the old windows they replaced. When I notified them of the sound issue, they sent someone to the house to try and figure out where and how the noise is coming from. They made verbal agreements to purchase sound blocking blinds to couter-act the noise gerated by their poor quality windows. However once the final check cashed, they are not following through on any of their verbal promises and have since refused to respond to any phone calls or emails. Let the buyer beware. If things are going well they are on your side, but as soon as something goes wrong they run like cockroaches and there is nothing you can except get a lawyer and hope for the best.

The inital salesman measured my windows, a second guy came back and also measured my windows. When the installers arrived, they realized one of the windows opened the wrong way and needed to be re-ordered.

My wife and I researched our window investment thoroughly. After speaking with friends who had Vinyl windows installed from a few years back, and a friend who had Renewal by Andersen....we were confident the Fiberex technology was superior verses Vinyl windows.

Installed by RBA of King of Prussia of PA

Our installation crew were very friendly. Their work was metticulous, and we were very satisfied with the quality of install. My only complaint is they came at 9 AM, when I thought they were coming at 8 AM. No big deal though.

We had 3 quotes in before we decided on RBA. The other 2 quotes were lower on our 15 windows, one by 2k, the other by 7k. We would usually go with the one in the middle, but again, the Fiberex product seemed superior to the Vinyl, and the Andersen name and warranty were huge for us compared to the other smaller companies.

The Salesperson arrived 15 minutes late and blamed it on the fact that my neighbor recently had a bay window installed by RBA and he thought they wanted to replace their remaining vinyl windows. So he said he was at their house for 20 minutes trying to figure out where he was going. I guess he never occurred to him that I was waiting at my front door when he pulled up @ 6:15. I requested a quote for a 4'x5' Bay window, which my neighbor had installed by RBA 2 weeks prior. The salesperson and I walked to the kitchen and he immediately started commenting on how poorly constructed my window was, which was installed by Andersen Windows in 1977. He then mentioned that if I wanted the same window as my neighbor, it would cost $8800. When I said I was sorry to waste his time and he could leave now, he started to criticize every window company in the area, even Andersen series windows!!! He was out of my house by 6:20! I would NEVER recommend Renewal By Andersen to anyone and shocked that my neighbor paid $8800 for a 4x5 bay window.

I didn't buy from Renewal because of the high pressure and the price.

I went to Renewal by Anderson because of input from other family members. The salesmen made me feel like I was buying a new car. High pressure and "If I didn't take his price on the spot then he couldn't give me the same price once he left the house"... If Anderson has a quality product don't you think they would want to be competitive with other window Mfg's? As it turns out even with the discounted pricing offered by Renewal, I still saved almost $3,000 by going with another window Mfg.

I was promised a disc for a down payment, but never got it. The salesman lied about everything but the windows. I've tried repeatedly to get resolution from the corporate office, but can't get anyone to call me back. Customer service is atrocious. If customer service is important to you, do not buy these windows.

We had 29 windows ordered for an exorbitant price of $43,000 and then I talked to other Co's and saw that window was made very poorly. I looked at reviews and saw many negative ones on Renewal by Andersen of Philly. I wanted out of contract and I was over 72 hr time frame and they would not allow me to void contract even though there was no consideration. I called them "Crooks" and checked to see if they were licensed in our county & state. I couldn't find their name of Company. They reduced price to $32,000 which bothered me. They finally let me out of contract w/o financial repercussions. The Renewal by Andersen window is poorly made and does not compare to an Andersen replacement window or an Andersen new construction window, or even to a vinyl repl window. We are going with Homecraft in Wilmington, DE for much better window at $17,000 or $600 per vs. $1,100 cost of Renewal by Andersen at "crook" price reduced from $43,000. Let the buyer beware

Price Information

We saved $800 per window by comparing prices and got a better vinyl window than "Renewal by Andersen" and Homecraft will be there for later service if need be. This fiasco reminds me of the "Tin men" movie.

We had windows installed in 2006 at our old house through Renewal by Andersen and we had our contractor install regular Home Depot Andersen windows for our addition. YOu can tell the difference that the Renewal by Andersen windows had better insulation. They finished the job in a day and the windows look great and fuction great. Our neighbors have admired our windows after we hosted a few neighborhood parties.

I received a quote from them based on no money down and 48 mos same as cash. When it came time to sign the final paperwork, the salesperson, John Simpson, started pressuring us to put $10,000-$20,000 down and finance the balance for 48 mos. The original quote was completely disregarded and I decided not to go with their company because of this. If I can't trust you to keep your word with the price, how can I trust you to do the work you say you'll do?

I'm not convinced on the quality of this product - the plastic base of the frame will not be easy to repair if it cracks or chips or dents. But I'm sure for $1000 they would sell me a repair window.

We did not purchase from them. The sales presentation was fine - not too high on the pressure, they did slam the competition a few times and bragged about all the pattents which they owned. But still their only line is a plastic window.

Price Information

We sized and priced out the entire house with double hung windows - 25 in all. When calculating for SDL simulated divided light type this came to (are you sitting down) $63,700. There was of course a 10% discount if i signed a deal that day. Really - you walk in and walk out with over $60k in 2 hours? Additionally they measured for two bay windows in our house - those two came in for $21,000 - what! That's a lot of nerve to ask for $84,000 for 27 windows, huh? I got a very telling answer from the sales guy after I told him that there was nothing which was going to get me to sign - I asked how many people thought about it and called back in a few weeks and ordered windows - you know think it over, make comparisons, find th money. His answer was that less than 1% of prospects make a purchase after the initial sales guy leaves. This to me means that over 99% of prospects clear ther head and realize that these guys are just throwing out prices to see what will stick. I was not provided a quote to keep - i could write the numbers down myself if i wanted - and that extra 10% discount price - that could not be extended after he pulled out of the driveway "there are consumer laws preventing this" - really - really? You are forbidden by law from quoting me a price and honoring that quote for more than 90 minutes? Honestly this turns me off the whole Andersen brand.

I was looking at retrofitting 8 windows and 2 patio sliders.I called Renewal By Anderson because of a half page ad in the local newspaper and was told insistantly that my wife and I both had to sit through a "60 to 90 minute" presentation in order to receive an estimate. I was immediately uncomfortable but agreed to an appointment four days later. I also called a "mom and pop" operation who install locally manufactured Milguard vinyl windows and had a 3"x5" ad in the same paper. I set an appointment for the following day with the owner who was willing to deal with just me. He was very knowledgeable and took just 30 minutes to measure the windows twice- one for the estimate and when I agreed to the price quoted another more accurate measurement for the manufacturer.

We waited for the three week lead time from the manufacturer and then another week to work in a two day install. the men who arrived were very pleasant, polite and efficient. They obviously took great care to seal, adjust and leave a clean installation.

Price Information

I wasn't quoted a price from Anderson but from the previous comments on this site, I would guess their price would be in excess of $15k. My cost to replace 8 windows and 2 sliders totalled just $6k.
