The two are incomparible. The companies I consult will not even sell the 2000. Different aesthetic appearance. flat stops instead of contoured, no vent latches, double instead of triple pane, vinyl flap instead of steel lifts... the list goes on. The dealer cost difference is nominal as Schuco leads the performance market and wishes to continue doing so by selling the trip/kryp with TPS. The heavier frame is intentional by adding the detailed extrusions emulating the classic wood windows without the maintenance.
