We are looking at these two different replacement window brands. Does anyone have either of them and would be willing to share the opinion on them?

Karla, The American Craftsman window is made by Silverline and sold through Home Depot. It's not the highest quality in any way. It's made to sell to the DIY person looking for a quick fix. I would strongly re-think using these unless they are going in your Cabin or Fish House for the Winter. Crestline is a better window than the other. It's used by a lot of new home builders here in MN. I have only dealt with them a couple times. I didn't really see anything to horrible about them. They seem to work just fine.

Karla:

If you go with Crestline, be sure they are made with Super Spacer insulating glass. To find out more info on Super Spacer go to www.superspacer.com

Karla,

I do not have any knowledge about American Craftsman, but I do about Crestline. My house is 9 years old and 21 Crestline windows are rotting. Other people have expressed their opinion to me that many of the major brands can experience the same problems I have and that may be true. But my response to you is about the service I have received from the Crestline. I have never dealt with a more difficult company than Crestline. The words "customer service" have never crossed their lips. My latest problems and questions have been going on now for 4 months with nothing coming close to an answer. In the last 4 months I have talked to and been passed back and forth to 12 different people within their so called service department. I fear it's going to take legal action just to get a response. Good luck in your search, but I would advise to stay away from Crestline.
