Subject: | Difficulty in capping of round opening? |

All of the vinyl-window companies that have been out to our house say that they will cap the exterior wood with PVC aluminum. I understand that on straight pieces of wood, that is not hard to do.
We have big picture window in the front of our house (some people call it a palladium window). It is straight on the bottom and on the two sides while the top is a half circle. Round. One company says that they don't even attempt to wrap the arch because it can't be done in any manner that would look good (apparently lots of cutting and caulking). Another company says that it is hard, but they know somebody good. Other companies haven't even mentioned it.
So what is the true scoop on the capping of this round opening? Can it be done? Should it be done? How should it be done? Whether or not it is done, is that important?
Thank you!
Mark

I just sent you an email with photos showing you how it can be done in a visually pleasing way. I hope this helps. Anyone else that wants to see the photos, email me and I will send them to you.

Thank you! I haven't gotten the email yet (because I am at work, and the email address in my postings is my home email address), but I am sure that it will be very useful.
Thanks again.

I sent those who asked the photos. Each job of this sort can be different from the next, so these photos do not represent the standard way to cap all of these type windows, as there is no "standard" way. Some are much more difficult as my fellow pros can attest to.
