thank you for the advice! I agree that the lower SHGC is the way to go. I found the ratings stickers that came on my Polaris ultrawelds I got this summer and they have a SHGC of .31 and .26. I hadn't really thought about it but knowing that now and knowing how hot the sun makes it in here with my big windows I can't imagine having the higher value window especially in a sunnier climate at a higher elevation. my property in Idaho has no trees and while I know they typically use wider overhangs, I don't imagine that would cut out all the sunlight.
