The aluminum flanges can be cut or collapsed. That is a call for the installer, the normal salesman is not going to know which will be needed nor why.

Right so in theory they should plan for the pocket at least initially and should things change go from there.

I got another quote from a referral and they use the Vytex windows, the NRFC numbers for the Georgetown are very similar to the OKNA. The biggest difference I can see is the constant force mechanism and no foam in the Vytex. The cost difference is a little over $1K (which I would use towards replacing some patio sliding doors I have). I've been reading some mixed reviews on Vytex on the forum here hence my hesitation.

The Georgetown is not comparable to anything in the Okna line up to be honest.

If you look at the upper end Vytex windows, they are nice units in many cases. The Georgetown...not so much.
