Milgard Styline any good? Milgard Classic?

#1 Post by asterix »

Hello,

I am planning on replacing 5 aluminum "step" windows. We live in the Pacific NW. I have bids for Milgard Styline. I have been told the main difference between Milgard's Styline and Classic lines is the looks. Is this true?

Evertime I talk to another local installer they thrash on Milgaard and Lowes and try and sell me a brand of windows I have never heard of.

ANy thoughts on Milgard Styline or Classic would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

The classic frame is 3 1/4" thick and the styleline is 2 7/8" For your purpose either one will work fine. While the dealer pays a little less for the styleline the install labor is the same. The classic with lowe and gas has a u value of 34 while the styleline comes in at .32. Don't make a big deal about all this. Be sure your installers have taken Milgards many install seminars and are AAMA certified..
