I live in Los Angeles, and need to replace 14 wooden double hung windows because of lead paint exposure to my son. 6 of the windows are in part of the house we're planning to renovate, but not for 3-5 years. If we replace these 6 now, can we reuse that window replacement in a future renovation? I would like to have these 6 windows replaced sooner rather than later because of elevated lead levels, but I don't want to be out a lot of money if they can't be reused.
We're looking at either vinyl or wood replacement double hung windows or wooden sash replacement kits.
Any advice on brands/dealers in Southern California.
Thanks.

Yes, they can be re-used if removed carefully.
