We've been looking around for quote to replace some/all of the windows in our house. The house is in upstate NY (Albany area), and has 34 windows, all either double hung or fixed.
The Ideal contractor gave us a quote for ~$13,000, and the Restorations quote is $15,860. The Ideal windows would have the energy savings option
http://www.idealwindow.com/homeowner/sp ... /low_e.php, while the Restorations windows would be their Omega12 line.
I've seen posts that said the Ideal windows are low to mid grade, and the Restorations seem like a higher-end window, but not a comparison between the two.
Both are Energy-Star Tax credit eligible, but I
think the Restorations have better ratings.
I think these are the correct windows from the NFRC, it's hard to find the right Ideal ones on there:

We also received quotes for Pella ($7500 for only 10 of the biggest windows) and Renewal by Andersen (~$27000 for the whole house), but these seemed too high of a price to justify purchasing.
Are the Restorations worth the extra price, or is that too small of a difference?
