I've gotten quotes for windows from Okna Insultec, Soft-Lite Barrington, and Simonton 6500. I noticed both Okna and Soft-Lite are fairly young companies, and am concerned about buying a window from a manufacturer that might not be around if something is damaged or breaks. Is this a legitimate concern? This a good reason to lean more towards Simonton than either Okna or Soft-Lite?

Softlite has only been in business since 1934 ....I wouldn't hold their young age against them.

I would add that age of a company doesn't necessarily mean the company will be around in the years ahead. A lot of old window companies have bitten the dust in this recession. I do know that Softlite recently expanded into entry doors and Okna is one of the fastest growing window companies in the business. Usually things like that bode well for the future of a company. I personally have no concerns either one will be around for a long time.
