Hello,
I love the look of this window design insert (see link below). Is it possible to add an insert to the top half of an double hung window? Or will an aftermarket insert keep the window from opening? If it's possible, how can an insert be made (e.g. what materials, etc.)? Are there certain types of double hung windows that would work with an insert?

Thanks!
Andrea

Re: Window Design Insert
There are companies that offer glass overlays in a variety of custom designs. If this is on your existing windows, you will need to find a local company to do this. The material used and other details will depend on the clearance of the existing windows (to not impede sash travel) and based on their individual offerings. We have provided similar designs to our clients that mimic leaded glass with excellent results.
