comparison and price of windows

#1 Post by tinhleus »

Hi,

I live in small back to back townhouse. I was looking to replace 2 windows and 1 patio door on the lower level that where our family stayed the most.

I received 5 quotes for 2@ windows 35 x 60 and 1@ 5 foot patio door.. Any opinion on which is the better option? Thank you

Option 1 - Alside
2@ Alside Mezzo double hang windows. ClimaTech ThermD TG2 Elite U-Factor .22 for glass package.
1@ Alside 6100 for the 5' patio door also ClimaTech TG2 for glass package. Total $2,300.

Option 2 - Vytex Window from 1 Unicorp
2 Vytex Georgetown Windows - $1,250
1@ 5' Vytex Georgetown Patio door = $2,350
Total = $3,720 plus $300 discount = $3,420

Option 3 - Soft-lite Nirvana Classic from Zen Window
2@ Soft-lite Nirvana Classic double hung -$1,190
1@ Soft-lite Dharma Kingsroyal patio door - $2,118
Total = $3,308 + 5% discount = $3,143
Add $30 more per window if I add super Spacer to classic window. And $80 for patio door.
Therefore, the total will be $3,143+60+80= $3,283.

Option 4 - Soft-lite Pro american Home contractors
2@ Soft-lite pro double hung
1@ Soft-lite Dharma Kingsroyal patio door with super spacer
Total = $3,500

Optio 5 - Okna 800 from Windows on Washington
2@ Okna 800 & 1 Okna Elegante Patio door for $4,640 with out discount ($4,00 cash) with discount with in today :-)

Hope you can help with your best opinion. greatly appreciated

Option 5, it is a No brainier, best window with a proven reputable company. The other Windows are not even in the same class/ quality of window.

Todd is right, Okna 800 is the best of the bunch by a good bit.

Todd & Randy, Thank you for reply to the post.

I live in Frederick, MD and the town house is very small. Do you think I need this top tier window and what do you think about the pricing..... Do you know how much is the Okna 8800 patio door cost alone??

Thank for your help...

No you do not need it, the pricing is excellent compared to the others. I am sure Eric can breakdown cost, but. It is best to bundle a small job like this together.
The Okna 500 is even a step above the other Windows.

these is what they estimated. only $250 different between 500 & 800

The estimated price below is good thru October 31, 2017:

2 white 1800 series triple pane windows (grids) & 1 PD, no grids- Investment- 0% interest for 1yr. = $5,300 (before discounts).
2 white 800 series double pane windows (grids) & 1 PD, no grids- Investment- 0% interest for 1yr. = $4,640 (before discounts).
2 white 500 series double pane windows (grids) & 1 PD, no grids- Investment- 0% interest for 1yr. = $4,490 (before discounts).

The difference in price is small because the quantity of Windows, you can't go wrong either way.

The pricing on the 800 series is very good. For that small difference, that’s the window I’d recommend.

Yep, hands down, the Okna 800. He is giving you very good pricing on the Okna 800 and patio door.
That would be my choice by far.

Todd, Randy, & masterext,

Thank you for your fast reply and advise. I think I will go with Okna 800.

little too much on my budget but for long run. my wife and Kids don't need to worry about the window on first level. Thanks again

Little late to the party here, but I strongly agree with the other guys. You have one of the most respected companies in the country and one of the top performing products, for a premium in the hundreds (not thousands) over some other more suspect options. Very easy choice on the Windows on Washington / Okna package.
