The Quest for the Manufacturer of my window.

#1 Post by BJBoyette »

I have some double pane window glass that the seal has broken (cloudy/milky looking). The only information I can find on the window is as follows: AAMA SPONSORED / Code: CRO-2 / Spec.: DH-B1-HP / Series: 21/26/27/28/21 WB / MST: 4161/3961 / and beside the AAMA logo is A-L-1. Does anyone have any idea who the manufacturer may be? Before I can order the new glass, I am told I need the manufacturer name, model, and size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...
BJ

If there was any warranty the MFG ID might help.
Otherwise have someone reglaze them. A window or glass person.

All the information available on the window was listed in the original post. I agree that if the manufacturer had stamped their name somewhere (anywhere) on the window, it would make this process so much easier. The company I called came out and gave me a quote... $1400.00... because the windows would be argon gas filled. Not sure if they were originally argon gas filled, or if that is just what they use now. Either way, for $1400.00 I will repair it myself. And since these "energy saving" glass panes have a rather limited life span... tempered plate glass will be used to replace them.

They quote you to replace the windows, not the glass.
My cost on the glass, low e argon clear annealed dual pane $75
4 @ 75= 300 + 400 labor = 700
