I just tossed an Andersen window salesman out of my home. He refused to give me an estimate on a sliding glass patio door and seemed pissed that my wife wasn't there. I told him I had taken the afternoon off and my wife was still at work. I told him I wasn't buying life insurance, just a door. His attitude got even more pissy and I asked him to give me an estimate on a mid priced door. He refused. I then told him to leave my home. He wanted to argue and I told him I was going to call the police if he didn't leave. He told me I was "in his space". I told him he was in my house and he needed to get the hell out. He argued some more and I got my cell phone out to call the cops. It was only then he said he would leave. He told me sarcastically as he left, "good luck with your project." I told him, "good luck with your life, you're going to need it." I've been a home owner for decades and have never encountered this kind of arrogance in a salesperson. I think a person who buys from this company should have their head examined.

The framing of the windows w/ wood - pine is poor uneven unfinished and I have to find someone to stain and finish. Nail and screw holes not finished. Gap in door to wall. Metal plate on the wood is standard not needed, The opening of the door is restricted by a overly large block. Could have been an inch less for more door opening when sliding open. Bad experience. Had used Pella on another home and quality is much better and it came w/finished wood and retractable screens. Andersen does not and could not do this. I would never use them again. I showed the sales person what I wanted and all he had to do was state that it was not possible and I would have moved on
