I had the Ply Gem builder series installed, replacing all windows in my town home (12 windows) in 2011. The installer promised quality windows much superior to my old metal ones. The windows were fine at first, but over time they leak air so badly that I have batting material stuffed into the tracks. I can literally see my drapes move when the wind blows and you can feel the air temperature difference in half the room. My heat pump runs continually and I have to keep the temperature lower than I would like to just to keep the electric bill down. Literally $7000 down the drain. Even though the Ply Gem manufacturer guarantees their windows for life they won't send a rep out after the first year, or it may be 2-years. They will only consider looking at the windows if a window installer states there is something wrong with the windows. Of course, the installer will not return my calls. Do not use C.J. Manning in MD for any window project and please don't waste your money on these windows or you will sincerely regret it.

C.J. Manning will promise you quality, but believe me you won't get it. He has changed his original business number and his voice mail is always full. He is a scammer!

We had the triple panes put in one year ago and they have been great. While there were a few issues on the install, (one was broken in shipment, not their fault), they were fixed immediately and without issue. We got the 200 and 700 series triple panes. Ratings are .22/1.25 U-factor, .25 solar, less than.3 air filtration, and .43 visible transmittance, so these are anything but low end. Very good quality compare to the old ones. Then again, they are not cheap. My only complaint is that I really don't care for the cranks on the casements as I tend to scrape my knuckles when operating.

Avoid the owner at all costs, but the crew is always wonderful, especially Jordan. And they are reliable.

Took the recommendation of our builder and had the Plygem 200 series installed. These are wood windows which our community required. They are totally unsatisfactory. In one year we have had numerous adjustments, the push pin screens are the worst design, double hungs won't stay up, locks won't lock. Would never recommend them.

We have had a whole house installed in our previous home. No problems at all. Professional installation. We now bought another home and are installing more Ply Gem Windows. Great Product.
The price was fair and the quote was accurate.

i thought I was ordering Milgard windows so I was disappointed from the get go. The screens were damaged out of the package, so they supposedly are sending new ones which i have not seen,(more than 2wks). Unless you know you are getting an entry level, or very cheap window I would not recommend these. once you've had good windows you can't go back. i will hopefully be resolving the issue with the installer.

We are not impressed. We had 21 windows installed. almost all of the seals failed and the glass had to be replaced. All of the hand cranks failed and it has been a nightmare working with them on the warranty to get them fixed/replaced. The warranty work has been in progress for 6 months. The staff are friendly and want to help but then will not follow through.

There were three screens ripped and one window sent wrong with grids on bottem instead of top. After first cold spell one top pain cracked. S&A construction in wichita ,ks did the installation and have been great on getting the window issues corrected. none of the issues were the installers fault it was all on the window company.

any issues with the windows were looked into and corrected in a timely manner.

we ordered a replacement picture window with a slider window on each side of the picture window. After the window was installed, we found a defect in the picture window. A new window was ordered. That one had defects, a new one was ordered. It was installed. It had defects. A new one was ordered. This is now number four. All this began in May. It is now October, and as of 10-21-14, the new picture window is siting at a warehouse, and the sliders have yet to be made. If everything is okay this time, I will never have Ply Gem near or in my home again. If the window is ever broken, I'll put up plywood before I'll use Ply Gem. They have dragged their feet, given false delivery dates, and given excuse after excuse.

We had our windows installed in 2005 with the Mastic name on them. I had many problems with these windows. One window in particular is where the Argon Gas has escaped making a horrible look to the lower half of my window. Many have become spotty or cloudy so when they are cleaned they never look clean. I have called PLYGEM who says they have no affiliation with Mastic before 2010. I have google Mastic and always points back to PLYGEM. They will not even help anyone. Unfortunately, Anderson was not doing replacement windows at that time. I understand they are branching into the replacement window area. Also, heard they will only deal with their contractors. So, in a situation like mine Construction Company is out of business and PLYGEM doesn't want to deal. Hopefully, I can at least advised some people to do their research!!!!!

Had 18 windows delivered on April 22,2014, sent 1 triple back due to it being broken and dented, sent back 1 double casement window back because it had so much silicon all over the outside white trim and it looked so bad and shabby looking. The window fuzz sticks out and the sealing around glass looks very cheap. Lowe's promised to bring them back and send a rep out to fix and clean them up. I should have known better and paid the extra to get a quality window like Anderson, it would have been worth it. Never will I recommend a Ply-Junk window. Anyone is welcome to come look at mine. I will give an update on how things get handled in a few weeks.

My builder installed 25 windows and a patio door. The windows are very poor quality. You can literally feel the cold draft from the windows standing a good 6 feet away. My furnace runs constantly attempting to compensate for the low temperatures on the wind exposed sides of my home. Warranty states that the windows are not actually meant to keep out cold or drafts and that storm windows will need to be purchased that have a higher tolerance to windy and low temperature climates. So here we go...replacing windows on a newly contructed home. Dissapointing to say the least. If you builder offers an upgraded brand or allows for customization, please avoid Ply Gem and choose a different brand.

Windows frost up when colder than -20C. Installed 3 years ago and have had 3 seal failures. Another person I know has had 6 seal failures since installing Ply Gem windows 4 years ago. I'll be buying a different brand next time.

Had 12 windows installed 2 of the 12 are cracked at the top after the pulley popped off. I have already had to order new pulley for one window already, not even a month old. In the process of call Ply Gem to get someone over to the house to look at the two windows that are cracked, Home depot said to bring them back and they could replace them but windows have already been installed. Easier said than done, not happy at the moment.

We had 11 windows installed in 2011 - the quality appears to be good - had an issue with one window that cracked. EXTREMELY poor customer service – had to constantly follow up with these people. My opinion – steer clear of this manufacturer. If you have problems down the road, you will regret purchasing Ply Gem.

We had 17 windows installed and think that it was a very professional job. We are pleased with the quality of the product and of the installation. Our neighbors are going to use the same window

We have had a great experience. We were very hesitant, as we had a bad experience in the past & were very skeptical going into this. We also had several companies come out prior to making our decision. We are so thankful we went the way we did. Very pleased with the price, the installing company & the product.
We paid approximately $500 each for the 17 windows. 15 were double hungs & 2 were picture windows. We went white inside & white outside to save money

A month ago, I had all my house windows replaced with Plygem Professional Series windows. Triple-Pane Low e. They look nice. It is alot quieter inside the house now. They seal good, but haven't had any real wind yet to check the seal. The real test will be this January.
Installed by Procraft Windows of WA
I thought the install was above average. There was a little cracking of the paint - or separation of the drywall right next to all the windows that were replaced.... Ie... a window has 4 sides and 1 side of each window will need a little plaster/paint. I read many other reviews before I bought and a few installation reviews by "the experts" and it's common to have some cracking of paint and maybe separation of some drywall right next to the window during the removal of the old windows.
I had 8 - triple-pane, Plygem low E Professional Series windows and 1 (Codel brand) French door installed by Procraft Industries 9-1-11. Three new bedroom windows 2 ft by 6 ft horizontal sliding...... One 5 ft by 6 ft patio door.... One 6 ft by 6 ft patio door..... One 5 ft by 4 ft picture window with a 2 ft by 5 ft sliding window on each side of the picture window........ And one 6 ft by 6 ft "Codel" fiberglass french door. Everything counting tax $10,535... The Procraft salesman was dishonest. He had a Plygem Premium window to show for demostration - and a brochure for Premium windows. He only put the model # for the windows in the contract. He did not put in - if it was Premium or Professional. I called a couple days after signing the contract and asked if it was the Premium or Professional windows that I bought - and he said he thought I was getting the premium windows. Two weeks later they installed the Professional series. He lied to make a few extra bucks.

Ply Gem seems to make a decent quality window. I haven't had them long enough to know for sure. I had all the windows in my home replaced and outswing French doors installed. I wanted to document my initial experience on customer service. When the window installation company asked about hardware in an oil-rubbed bronze finish for the French doors, they said it would be some crazy price like $800. When I said i would just paint the handles that come with the door, they were quick to point out that would void my warranty. I went into their production warehouse to look at windows and French doors. Adrian was very helpful. He pointed out that they do offer a stock color besides white that is very similar to oil-rubbed bronze so I got that. The windows and doors seemed to be of high quality and I learned a lot about the different options. When I had the windows and doors installed, the threshold on the French door was metal, like you'd normally see on the exterior. I called Ply gem to ask if they had any interior trimmed threshold and they said the metal piece was my only option. When I asked if I could find a piece somewhere else to trim it out, they were quick again to point out it would void the warranty on the door. I was then transferred to a full mailbox, then the operator, who took my number and told me Roy from warranties would call me. He never did. It doesn't seem like this company has much experience with residential French doors. Otherwise, they would have options besides metal thresholds on the interior of the doors. It also seems the company is very eager to void their warranties. My guess is that PlyGem can afford to offer a decent quality window at an affordable price by limiting options and closing warranties. I would say they are a typical mass production operation but they custom make their stuff. It took about a month to get mine made. So quality good, customer service bad. Good luck!

Installer also did not discuss many options with me. They ordered the stock white hardware without asking, or seemingly even being aware that there were other options. They did return to install the hardware I wanted sand they reduced the price for me having electrical work done before the install. The install was efficient and clean. They also did not recognize that a metal threshold is not appropriate for the interior of a French door and did not offer to remedy this. I also discussed with the owner getting a double Hung window in the bathroom but I neglected to make sure this was on the contract and ended up with a single hung. Again, you get what you pay for. Very reasonable price. Very pleasant people. I just don't think they have a lot of experience with doors. Recommend for windows.
