We purchased 6 casement windows for for almost $14000.00.The first frost we had we had ice building up on the inside of the window. I spoke with the manager and he told me that that was normal. B.S. He refused to come out and take a look at the problem. Now the gas escaped from one of the windows and when I called for service, no one will respond.

They are very friendly when they want to sell their lousy windows, but totally ignore you when you need warranty work. I would never recommend this company.

Windows installed end of December 2005. Since then, have had issue with the frame puffing out and cracking when water got through their poorly sealed windows, rain water coming in through the frame and running down our wall through a different window, condensation galore (which they claim is "normal" for all windows) that pools up in the casement windows and has a black mold-like residue left behind, discoloration in the interior wood frame that I didn't see in my 50 year old windows that I had before these, and now have mold growing on the inside ledge of our bay window. And for $10000 spent on the original 9 windows and a bay window, they are trying to charge us $2300 (which is a 50% discount...so them doing us a favor) for the labor because they will have to gut all existing windows and replace everything. And as others have stated, their "Lifetime Warranty" is garbage since they state that labor is covered only for the first 3yrs, and then they try and charge you $222 per hour for labor. Not to mention the $85 fee for someone to come out for 20 minutes to agree with you that their windows are garbage.

Original installation process seemed to go fine. But obviously, they should have taken more time or double-checked their work, since we have bad seals on nearly all the windows. And as another person described, the caulk they use looks worse than the original caulk that came with the house built in 1954.

Price Information

7 casement windows, 2 double hung windows, bay window was about $10,000. Cost to replace everything 7 years later $4600, but due to their "generosity" only $2300. I'd love to see the 2 man crew they want to send out properly and safely remove the existing bay window and put a new one in.

We put Wellington Windows in our home in 2008. Since then one has cracked, several had to be adjusted because they would not stay up or lock, one was foggy and now another has to be replaced because of the fog. It will cost us labor and a trip charge because it is after 36 months and only the material is covered that explains the Limited in Lifetime LIMITED warrancy.

Our new windows are beautiful and well crafted and for the first time in the twenty plus years we have lived in our home we can have the windows open and let the sunshine in. We now have a backyard that we never were able to see before.

I don't know what company the people with bad reviews were working with. We could not have asked for better service. The installers even shoveled our front steps of the fresh snow on installation day to keep the snow from coming in the house. They went above and beyond their contract and even replaced our heavy shutters after installation as my husband could not get them up by himself. We had a minor problem with one window and they were out the next day to fix it to our satisfaction. I don't see how we could have asked for more. Love our new windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We shopped many windows from the big box stores to the top. We felt Wellington had excellent quality and the price was comparable to others of the same quality. We have gotten four windows replaced and as we save money for more we will certainly go with Wellington.

We are currently shopping for replacement windows. WW is NOT even getting a call due to the horrible experience we had with a sliding door install through them. The threshold is built up 6", which was never explained to us during the sales pitch. We also had defective glass that took FOREVER to get replaced. When it finally did come in, it was bad again. It took 3 times to get right. Calls to mgmt to voice concern were never returned. It took so long to get this resolved that my credit card company's "charge challenge" period had expired.

The windows look good but there is a lot of cool air that goes right through them. The glass has a "flex" to it when I wash them and the installation was poor. We ended up with cracked siding, sloppy caulking and dirty carpet. Expect problems and delays when trying to have any warranty work done.

One of the windows we had put in cracked, It took 7 months for Wellington to come out and repair it, amazingly the day after we called the better business buereau we finally got some action. We are DONE buying from them. The will not let you talk to management and lie about where your order is. They have gone from great a few years ago to a company to avoid at all costs.

They were origianlly made in the wrong size. When the replacement came, there were problems with the tilt in releases. Now the bottom lift bar and the bottom panel are coming loose on one of the windows. This is unquestionably a manufacturing defalt and they want to charge a $65 trip charge to fix their error. Also there is no flexability on when they will come to service it. It is strictly at their convience. Wellington will not replace any windows for me in the rest of the house or anywhere in the future and I will be sure to share this message with anyone I hear of looking for windows.

Caulking used on the extior was inferior and looks like it is 15 years old. Dirty and totally ugly!

On the phone they are friendly. And the windows look good. But I agree with the other review, if something goes wrong, you have big problems with Wellington Windows. All (more than two dozen) our windows failed and we waited more than 2 months to get them replaced.

The windows are of good quality and look great. The price was reasonable. Once the windows are installed you can only hope you do not have any problems. Their "after the sale" service is terrible.
