I never thought replacement windows could be such a challenge! Any input, pro or con, for Amerimax, Mercer, Milgard or any other recommendations for vinyl replacement windows in Northern California. Any suggestions for manufacturers that provide bronze color vinyl exterior framing?

I would stay away from a bronze exterior vinyl co extruded. No one has perfected it yet. As to the manufacturers mentioned, I would rate them (1) Milgard (2) Amerimax and (3) Mercer but all very close. Feel comfortable with your installer amd make sure they are there to back the warranty.

I agree with greg; bronze or musket brown exterior vinyl will not last. Have you looked at Anlin window systems bases in central calif.? excellent shgc (.27) as well as sturdy constuction and good service. Anlin.com

Something to consider when buying new windows.
Not in specific order are
1. Glass treatment how many coatings of Loe
2. What kind of spacer material is bonding your two panes of glass will it expand with the glass or it will not creating air leaks and condensation?
3. Window frame design. How many interior walls does the extrussion have? the more the better.
I agree with the other postings regarding bronze windows
