I just bought a house that has 40 year old windows that have to be replaced. Had home depot give me a quote for their line of simonton 6500 series. Question: They claim that this series is a 7/8 insulated glass but when I check out simonton web site, they do not even list that they sell a 7/8 insulated glass. Also, 14 windows were about $8500, help, is this worth the money?

$600 per window, but without sizes we can not be of much help. Please calculate the total square footage and the cost per square foot and then we can better answer your concerns. Manufacturers working with HD do give them features not available elsewhere.

You're wrong. Sears has the same exclusive feature on Simonton windows that Home Depot has.

The 6500 does indeed have a 7/8" glass package. The 6500 is basically the Simonton Prism Platinum with a few variations. Regarding is it worth the money, that's up to you. Make sure you compare the proverbial apples to apples. Energy efficiency, warranty, etc...

I'm going to stay nameless on the fact I work for Simonton in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Iwas recently told of this site and the support we get from the pro's here. As I read on I've come across an employee of Home Depot Inc. selling and telling things about his windows. First of all Home Depot's window is not the Prism series window. It's a glorified Impressions window. (The post by guy was very accurate further down the road). I don't know why this person insists on posting all these untrue statements on Home Depots line. Please go to Home Depot and talk to them in person. You can even call our Consumers Service Center and speak to any sales staff.

Yet another Naysayer coming from out the woodwork. That's one thing about this board, anyone can post anonymously. Anyone can claim to be anyone they want. Me included. At least I've been honest about where I come from.

Each series of "your" (your an imposter by the way) windows have improvements on the next. Hence them being the differant series. So please inform us on all my other untrue statements.
The Renovations 6500 has a 13 chambered frame, warm edge tech., an ISS, a 3/4" SS constant force balance system, a three step sill, an interlocking/overlapping meeting rail, an integrated lift rail, a 7/8" glass package with HP LowE and argon with double strength glass. Hmmm. Everything the Prism Platinum has.
You say to go to Home Depot in person and ask them. If you truly know anything about how this side of the business is ran, you would know that what you said is bogus. You are an imposter. That's why I'll continue to post here. You and yours slander and lie because we continue to treat our customers right and take away your business. There's a reason we do over 11,000 At-Home-Service installs per day. That's right, 11,000 per day nationwide. And Guy's post was completely off base as usual regarding THD.

with your postings, it just reaffirms why i wont shop at home depot. your out of hand and should be fired from your position. you do nothing worthy for this board. all you do is start arguements and boast about yourself. we are here to have questions answered by people who can answer them. please post elsewhere. i read back a ways you weren't going to post anymore. figures, another man who can't keep his word. you offer nothing to answer questions here. Your not even honest on where you come from. you must be affraid of something. i would say your store manager would if he read these post's. so don't portray honesty. your not. itend to believe the others who post here before you.

This is a good one Hopper. Just want you to know I've left you alone like I said I would. I won't ever walk your turf. It's not worth the BS. Plus I know your 6500 is your BEST pick of window. MAiking it Prism quality. With the price. there have been others posting with my name periodically. You can always email my name to see if it's me. Just letting you know I'm not in this stuff here. I'm out!!!
