I think I finally have made a decision. I've chosen Polybau over Milgard. I'm replacing my bedroom window with a retrofit X0. Polybau uses super spacer between the panels and Milgard uses aluminum. I have learned in this forum that it is very important to have the super spacer. Am I correct? Am I making the right decision?
Thanks!

Patricia go to http://www.edgetechig.com to learn more about the superspacer technology and how it compares with spacers with aluminum in them.
Also go to my website and read the brochure on health smart windows.
I bought my house last year and it came with double pane windows i can't even make up what brand they were but they had a full aluminum spacer and sure enough created mold.
I have pictures if you want to see them. Just e-mail
Good luck

OK I got it. Super spacer seems to be very important. Now my question is how much should I be willing to pay for it. Milgard Classic will cost me 491$ and Polybau will be 590$. Same window. Only difference will be the spacer. Is it worth it?
Thank you all for your help. You've been great!

It is great that people are really doing their homework on the windows - but windows are only 1/2 of the equation. An excellent installation is as important as an excellent window. When comparing your quotes, it is also important to compare the installation methods and the materials that will be used to "finish" your installation. All these things factor into your "cost per window." Finally be sure that you get an installation warranty as well as a product warranty. Good Luck on your decision.
