old frame removed

Could we expect any vinyl replacement window companys to offer to remove inside and outside trim, as well as the old frame and put these nice new vinyl windows in like the old ones came out? We think leaving the old frame in place looks bad. Can I ask them to remove inside oak trim and measure for exact fit. Any thoughts or comments people.
Thank you,
RCasement

It's your money. Ask them to do the job anyway you would like. As a window contractor, I try to advise what I think is best, but if someone wants to spend the extra money to have all new interior trim installed, as well as all new exterior casings, it's their home, and their money.
Just make sure to have a real detailed discussion with your contractor about EXACTLY how your windows will look on the outside. Doing a total replacement can alter the look of the outside estetics of the window, and can make a window opening look "filled in" if not planned out correctly. If you are re-siding your home at the same time, this is not such an issue.

Absolutely! We do it everyday. You can expect a dollar figure to go up with this procedure. We use a vinyl window that has a brickmold attached outside. It fits back in the existing opening like a glove. Proper measuring is required though. On the inside we prepare the new window with a jamb receptor. (this holds the new jamb extension boards for your inside trim). We then make a four sided jamb box with trim already attached. Slide it in place and we're done. This is the same way many of the new houses are being done. It's the nicest way to go sometimes. Just make sure your provider shows you what everything will look like when completed. Hope this helps.

Thank you guys or gals,
I guess its my job to tell them to do the job right, or live with the standard job.
