<Forum>

I hope I have helped some as that was my true intent. I have invested hundreds of hours trying to do so on this site. Unfortunately, it has become more of a "chat room" for individuals seeking drama and arguement. I have decided that there are better uses for my time and greater rewards personally, serving those that appreciate it. I wish you all well, but there are a few I'd like to mention:

I'll begin with the host. Tim, thank you for the vehicle you have provided for those of us that wish to share knowledge in an effort to educate and help others. Pros on the board like Windows4U, Guy, Oberon, Windowman2000, Randy, EZ... (and so many others), have argued at times, agreed at others... and yet we shared a bond and a similar purpose... to help. We will meet again... ya'll know how to reach me. I can't leave out homeowners, like Art and WVGUY (and everyone that's posted) that try to help others even after they purchased windows!!! Where on earth do you find that kind of effort and kindness for free???

You all have my respect... and we will share times on another forum, in life or online... I'm sure of it. Please feel free to forward my email addy (FenEx@optonline.com) if you feel I can help. It would be, and has been my pleasure. You know I actually feel sad? God bless.

Dear FenX

I just finished sending you an email and came to check out the board and saw your message.

I want to thank you for your kindness and support. I just hope I am not one of the reasons you are leaving.

Athough I only found this site a few weeks ago, it has been a great help. And you my dear FenX are one of the reasons it is/was such a God send to confused homeowners like me. God Bless you. You will be missed by many (all of whom are hoping you change your mind and stay).

Warmest Regards,

Marie

FenEx,

Sorry to see you go, but talk about "drama."

What are you doing? Come on, hang with us, we need you. Everyone will not always agree with you, or accept your advice, or be nice to you, etc., but that's no reason to just up and quit.

This "industry" is a mess. It needs people like you. From the public's prospective, this industry is full of con-men, used car salesman (no offense to the good ones), and worse. Some of that is justified, but much of it is not. Without people like you, and sites like this, things will not get better and everyone loses.

Don't give up, don't quit.

Sorry

I surely appreciate your position, but consider the following.......

You know as well as I do that this is what Internet Message Boards have become. You already know the drill; if one doesn't have something GOOD to say about something, then they're implicitly saying something NEGATIVE. Unfortunately, everyone seems to take everything personally on the Internet. But, I ask you to remember that these boards are read by human beings from the Milky Way.....not the galaxy "far, far, away" from which you and I hail.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that this board cannot exist without you. So, as the defacto Jedi Master (which I awarded to myself just this second)........YOU SIMPLY ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE. If you persist in this action, then I'll be forced to dispatch your drunken brother, Schuco-Kin FenEx Kenobi, to straighten you out.

And believe me, you don't want a drunken Schuco-Kin FenEx dogging YOUR arse. Now, get back to work answering and responding......LOL !!!!!!!!!

You will always have my respect. I very much enjoyed agreeing and disagreeing with you, because ultimately it was always in the best interest of the consumer and it was always professional.

Take care of yourself my friend and maybe we will have a chance to talk one day again.

Back in my Renewal by Andersen Installer days i felt sick to my stomach everytime i would go on a new install. Why? because at a rate of 1500.00 dls a window and 5000 a door i knew what i had coming.... a fight uphill to prove than an inferior product was worth the money the customer had invested in. When it was in well to do neighborhoods that sickness was not that bad maybe it's wrong but hey they could afford to overspend a little bit or a lot a bit, but where it really would break my heart is when we would install in poor or barely making it households, all because a smooth talking salesman misinformed and full of erroneous information talk them into signing a contract that would put them in debt for years to come. Finally i quit and went into business for my self, since then i have charged my customers not more than what's fair, for them , for me, for my business. And i also have educated them as much as possible regarding their investment their options and what's out there and it feels good. it also feels good to have found this website and coming to realize that i am not alone, that there was Fenex, Window4u,Randy,Guy,Oberon,Windowman2000 and more that would get a kick out of helping potential consumers make the best decision, whether they were local or across the country, from installation methods, to low e and glazing methods. A lot of people come to this post to laugh at us or so they say on their post. We are the "good guys" and we are losing one of us, that's a bummer bro i learned a lot on this post and a lot was from you, thank you and i know you'll be back, good people can't stop being good.

You are one of the good guys in the industry FenEx and I hope you will come to realize that you are needed on this site.

Forget the many frustrations and the time spent unpaid, what you have been doing has made a difference, a big difference in the lives of many, many people. You have earned my respect as well as the respect of just about every other industry insider who has ever posted here.

I hope you will reconsider. If not, I wish you well and God bless.

Fen Ex –

It is with great regret that I read your post about the decision to leave this forum.

I began coming here a few short months ago and feel that I now know a lot more than most window salespeople - because of you and a few others.

The moment that I first read a post from you was when I became aware that this site did indeed have knowledgeable, intelligent windows professionals on it. It is because of the depth and breadth of knowledge that issues from individuals such as you that so many of us have a much better handle on what to look for.

Without a doubt the task that you undertook here is one that is difficult, close to but not impossible. It is one that’s irritating, aggravating and without remuneration. It’s frustrating to the extreme. And it’s one that is so necessary and, as I’m sure you realize, so rewarding in many ways.

I realize that sometimes there are clouds or turns and twists in the tunnel or that the tunnel is just so long that only blackness can be seen ahead. Nonetheless, the light at the end does exist, and many times it’s those poor folk lost in the tunnel that one helped who come to one’s aid to reach the end. Point being, don't give up on us.

It’s my sincere hope that you’ll simply take a brief respite from here and then decide to return. It’s my sincere belief that if you stay away, you’ll be doing something antithetical to your wish to help others. It is only through participation of those like you that others not nearly as knowledgeable will be educated. I think that the motto of Encyclopaedia Britannica just might apply to you in an abstract sense – to wit – “Let knowledge grow from more to more and thus be human life enriched”.

I hope to talk with you again – until then, please accept my very best wishes for your further success and a good life.

Thank you for all of your assistance and be well.

Art

FenEx --

I just read your post -- and I'm really sorry to hear that you are fed up and moving on. You have helped countless numbers of people on this board, with no compensation in return, and I for one look up to a person like that.

I was surprised by one thing in your post. You said "there are better uses for my time ... serving those who appreciate it." The implication is that you feel unappreciated by the folks who read this forum. I hope that all of these replies to your post might show you how much you really are appreciated...

Thank you again for all of your advice and wisdom you so freely offered, and good luck. God Bless you as well...

Steve

As a Fenestration Expert, you should welcome debate. It enriches the mind. As for drama, you yourself, with such a departure, seem to be quite adept at it.

I'll bet you will not be able to resist the temptation to log on, perhaps even under a new alias, and we will not see the last of Fenex.

Best wishes!

Sorry for not posting earlier FenEx, but I have been on the road. I am really sad to see your departure, but I can understand it.
It seems like the same person, or persons, are just laying in wait for an opening to attack using whatever anonymous name they decide on for the day, and it is getting tiring. I do believe this is isolated to one or two people, and not the feelings of the board as a whole, and wish you would reconsider at a later date after taking a break.
Your passion for helping people will definitely be missed.
Good luck!
