I need windows and want to know if argon or krypton gas is better

It seems that the majority consensus from the knowledgeable pros is that Krypton is considerably better. From what I've seen it would appear to have less dissipation over the years, greater insulating properties and a higher degree of soundproofing inherent in it.
Also, as an extremely well-versed, certified and EPA licensed pro pointed out over the past several months, Argon is a technology that's a little over 20 years old and Krypton is much newer in the consumer market.

Krypton is a better gas to go with because it is twice as heavy as argon. Argons weight is 18 while Kryptons is 36. Krypton will also last a lot longer as well. If you are looking at triple pane windows you should also look into a good soft coat low-e coating as well.

Subject: | Krypton will typically only be available in combination with triple glazing |

While your post title clearly states that triple glazing is your intent, your reference to who's the "best for the money" implies you might be more focused on value rather than top-of-the-line features. On that basis, you might end up finding that an upper-end, premium window is something less than the best value for your money.
And, since krypton is generally considered a premium feature, you might end up finding it somewhat difficult to find in a below-premium grade window.

It depends what you mean by "considerably better". Since some companies get a 98% fill rate with argon gas and it dissipates at about 1% per year and remains effective down to about 50% the dissipation is not a great concern. Unless the company you're discussing injects the argon gas and fills it to the 50-60% level.
I would like to see some studies with argon vs. krypton in the same spacer system and the same fill level. I don't know of any.
I've been told that krypton is a better insulator than argon but only marginally so and not worth the extra cost. Krypton is something great for marketing but does little for the overall performance of the window.
Argon is cheaper because it is a by-product when companies process pure oxygen from air and krypton has a more difficult process.
The information from the preceding two paragraphs are things I've heard from window people that I have not been able to verify. I haven't repeated this until now with this disclaimer.
I will raise the question to someone from Cardinal Glass and will let you know if I get a response.

It is my opinion that Krypton does indeed make a considerable difference over Argon gas.
Since my favorite window I sell, Schuco, has no tables available for this comparison, let me use one from Gorell, another window I handle.
Gorell has two triple glass packages, the Energy Master III and Thermal Master III.
The Energy Master III uses argon as fill, the Thermal Master III uses krypton. All other factors are constant.
The chart they give out shows a center of glass U-value of .16 for triple glazed with argon gas , which is an R-6.25 .
The exact same glass package, only with Krypton, has a center of glass U-value of .10 which is an R-10.
The difference this translates to in total window U-value is .17 for the Krypton, and .23 for the argon.
While only a total window difference of R-1.54 , when dealing with windows this is a dramatic difference and well worth it to spend the couple bucks extra for krypton, as long as the dealer marks it up reasonably, and doesn't try to make a fortune for the upgrade.

Make sure superman does not live in these Krypton windowed
homes. He cannot stand up to the green tint they have.

argon is approx 3x as dense as air and cost about .10 per liter. Krypton is about 6x as dense as air and cost about 3.00 per liter. Argon is so cheap and redily available it's the natural choice. You could go nut's and ask for xenon it's about 10x as dense as air but cost about 11.00 per liter. Thus you see why these cost vary in window mfrg.
