Anybody familiar with Windsor windows and have an opinion on them? Thanks for your input.

They're a decent builder's-grade window usually used for new construction.

They recently switched to extruded aluminum on the sash which is a good sign but haven't heard if they have had any design problems with it.

Jim, I have three year old Windsor Windows in my house and they are junk. The sills are aluminum but the rest is wood - so I don't know how the newer designs will perform. My Windsor sliding glass doors weatherstripping was broken to the point of falling out. I had to replace this door already and am now in the process of replacing the slider windows in the rest of the house. During wind driven rain these windows will not hold out water and the tracks fill up with water on the inside (the drains are clear). The builders distributer actually told my wife that you cannot expect these windows to hold out ALL of the rain. My advise is it only costs a little more to go with better windows. Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply.

I would think the vinyl ones are better.

Thanks for your reply. I am wondering how their vinyl double hung windows are.
