Does anyone have a recommendation for a good window contractor in the Omaha, Nebraska area? We have spoke to one who seemed more like a used care salesman! He told me that they can't do a full tear out on our old windows, even though we are replacing our vinyl siding as well. They would retro-fit a replacement into the old frame but in doing so I would loose a couple of inches of glass. Is this the best procedure for replacing window or is it just easier on the installer?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Kim, Even though a lot of windows on the market are retro-fit, you can still request to have a total replacement. You might have just had a company come out that uses sub-contractors and it would cost them a lot more money to do a total replacement. I would suggest that you find a company that uses their own contractors and not subs. A good company in Omaha is Omaha Door and Window. They have been in business for a long time and have a good name in the Omaha area. They are also a dealer for Schuco windows, which is one the best replacement windows one the market. If you have any other questions let me know.
