SCHUCO

Posted At: 2004-09-12 01:40:48

I am in the market for new replacement windows in the NE Ohio area. I had a SCHUCO sales rep in today and about fell out of my chair when he gave me the price. Can anyone tell me the norm per united inch for casements and also on the inline slider? Can someone also tell me the difference between the Corona 2000, 3000 and 4000? How can I tell what I am getting if I go with these windows? (Difference in the 200,3000, & 4000? I dont want to pay for the 4000's and get the 2000's.

Thanks

Warner -

The installation crew finished up most of my Schuco install today - just a little left to go next week. My Schuco windows came with factory stickers on them that indicated Corona 4000 along with the data on U-value, SHGC and the number of panes of glass. It's pretty hard to miss.

I don't know what your sales rep gave as a price but the installer I purchased through gave me what I think is a pretty good deal. 8 Sliders, a 5 lite bow and 6 hopper windows for less than $9.000 and I have to say, they look GREAT!

Glad that your about done with your window endeavor. My rep wanted $3700.00 for 1- 36 x 35 inline slider and 2- 20 x 50 casement’s. The 36 x 35 Inline slider was $900.00 alone. I feel that the windows are a great product but not worth the price I have been given. Guess I will keep looking.
Thanks for your response.

Yeah, that sounds kinda pricey. Have you considered looking for a different Schuco dealer? Schuco as a corporation has nothing to do with the final sale price because they sell through independent dealers. I had somewhat the same situation and was fortunate enough to find a dealer that believes in a fair profit - not an exorbitant one.

And I must say, at this moment, I'm glad I didn't go with a different brand - these Schuco's operate very well and I can already tell the difference (it's getting hot here today).

Good luck whichever way you go.
