We just got a quote for Pella Precision Fit Architect's Series units w/ simulated divided light for around $1150/window (includes installation) for eight approximately 32 x 46 inch windows in the Boston area. They seem like nice windows, but does that seem right? It was a bit more than we expected. We also noticed that Pella is supposed to have a "Spruce-Up" sale on their replacement windows. Does anyone know what that entails? It's not clear from the quote.

We have put in 6 Pella Precision Fit Architect Series double hung alum. clad ext insulshield glass windows and are planning on putting in 8 more. Sizes range from 22-28 inches wide to 50 to 65 inches. The price for all 14 windows is approx. $10,000 Canadian or about $700 average per window (uninstalled). At current exchange rates, this would be approx. $540 US dollars, though I don't know if this is a fair comparison. They were more expensive than some others, but we felt the features (ease of cleaning), the quality control (each window is individually tested for infiltration), the available brass hardware and the aesthetics were worth it as they look great in our 1912 2.5 storey. We installed ourselves as it was quite easy and took very little time.
