K-Designers California

Does anyone have info on K-Designers and their product America's Dream Windows. I just cancelled a contract with them for windows after checking prices on the net. Their original quote was close to $30,000 for 12 window openings. The same through New pane highest bid for Milgard fiberglass was only $13,000. Did I do the right thing.

I live here in LA. Never heard of the company you mentioned but I also had bids for 19 windows. Anlin wanted $22,000 and Magic Windows $17,000. They told me that was a discounted price. I now have a quote from Milguard which will be around $10,000( just after reading all these messages, not sure Milguard is a good product due to their terrible warranty)? Prices must be a California thing. I don't intend to pay almost $1000 per window!.

Where does the claim that Milgard has a terrible warranty come from? They actually have one of the very best warranties in the industry, as it covers labor as well as materials for as long as the original purchaser owns the home. If there is a weakness, it is in transferrability, which is limited to five years from the date of purchase.

As a Milgard dealer, I can tell you that they completely back their products.

Karen i bid a lot against Anlin Window Dealers and i know for a fact that they are not that expensive. A lot of people make the mistake of sayin Anlin wanted so much or Magic windows wanted this much but you have to understand that the manufacturer just makes the window is the dealers or window companies that set the price. If i was you i would look for another Anlin dealer or Magic windows dealer and compare prices. I believe the issue posted before regarding Milgard Warranty is an isolated incident and i will tell you every window manufacturer will have at least a couple of those, after all they are run by humans.

Ever heard the expression "make a customer happy he'll tell 3 people, making unhappy he'll tell 20?

One thing i know for sure. To pay a $1000.00 dlls for a replacement window is just plane silly. Is not unusual to pay that or more but only if you are doing new construction Andersen or Marvin etc.

Good luck
