I received an estimate for Schuco windows, triple pane, 3 glazing layers, Krypton fill to be installed in my home. I think this is the 4000 series.
I live in the Denver area and don't have a choice in who I get the quote from (only one Colorado distributor).
Here are the approximate measurements of my 15 windows:
60x60 Slider
35x35 Slider
35x35 Slider
34x46 Slider
34x46 Slider
47x23 Double Hung
47x23 Double Hung
47x23 Double Hung
46x95 Double Slider (slider, picture, slider in 1 window)
22x23 Slider
22x23 Slider
46x47 Slider
46x47 Slider
46x47 Slider
46x47 Slider
The estimate is about $14,000 for these 15 windows.
This seems pretty high to me, so I'd like other opinions from professionals and other homeowners alike.

That pricing is actually below par for high profile areas of Chicago and New York. The sliders often cover the area of 2 double-hungs and are more expensive. Given basic installation, not an out-of-line number nationwide.

So would I then expect to pay more to upgrade any of the sliders or double-hungs to Casements? It's something I'm considering.
Also (a little off topic), would you expect "Magic Windows" to be in the same price range and what is your opinion of the Magic line?
I have looked on the NFRC.org site for Magic Windows thermal data, but I don't see them listed. Not sure why.

You don't see them because they probably don't make the windows they name and sell... much like Countryview (East Coast) and many, many others. I assume they figure the private manufacturer status has an appeal to homeowners giving them the the impression they will save money.
As for pricing... it depends on location, size, type and sooooo many other variables. So many here think they are like a piece of furniture... that can be quoted by size and specs... it's just not so. Sorry, I couldn't help more.

Schuco has the best slider on market so please do take that into mind when you buy1
