Posted At: 2004-09-28 01:27:31

To all- this is a fascinating board full of useful info (I really did read all I could) but still need to enlist help. Want to replace 34 openings: 2 std french doors to sliders; 2 96" french door replace; 2 IGU Temp 96" windows; 2 garden box windows; 1 hex win; 1 reg door; 6 s/h wind (2 temp 1/3); 7 XO wind; 6 IGU wind (3 temp); 5 pict wind. Includes self clean ($80.00 per) and double brass grids. Live in Mojave Desert So Cal and not many installers here. Simonton rep came - wants to sell Impressions 7300/7500 - installed (after MUCHO dicsounts) $34,700.00. Is this good? Are there other mid to hi end window dealers willing to travel to Ridgecrest that you can recommend?
Would like to start within 2 months - any replies MUCHLY appreciated - Sandee

I dont know the type or size of your windows, but I just bought 37 windows, 23 units of Reflections 5500 casements,
for $10,475,00. A local contractor who did the windows of another house down the street is doing the install right now and painting, repairing any rotten wood. He is removing the old window completely and putting in the new with a fin and then using a vinyl brickmold between the window and old cedar trim. He charging me $7,000. Thus 17475 total for the job.
