Hanson windows

Looking for feedback of those who have had Hanson windows installed. Quality of install, type of window (IQ, Low E, etc)customer service and satisfaction of product. We liked IQ type window that has "heat type" coating on outside of panes (in and out) that block much of the heat loss, per their demo. Also like their lifetime guarantee for parts and labor with no trip charge. They offered us quoted price of their standard window, however I am not sure if that is such a great deal as each window comes to about $800.00each to install. Any feedback please.

Just beware of their sales tactics and you can definitly get a much better window than theirs (Republic Window Co.out of Chicago) for the price they are charging you. Also read other posts on this site about the IQ glass, you may reconsider. Good Luck!

IQ glass is a unique product, and due to its make up and characteristics I am not surprised it is pricey.

As I understand it, IQ glass has two coatings of Low-E on the interior of the IGU - a hardcoat on surface 3 (the inner surface of the inside lite) and a softcoat on surface 2 (the inner surface of the outside lite). In addition, there is a slight electrical charge that is run through the the hardcoat that results in the inner lite actually heating up. The outer lite's softcoat Low-E then reflects the heat back into the room so that the window acts as a radiant heater.
A very interesting concept.
Both lites are tempered which helps to prevent thermal breakage of the glass due to the heat being applied to the inner lite.

As I said, that is my understanding of the product. If I am mistaken or if anyone has more information, please feel free to correct my post or to add to it.

I have never seen it in operation, so I have no idea how well it actually works - I have just heard about it here and there.
