I called Gorell 2 days ago and inquired about contractors who sell and install Gorell windows in my area of Massachusetts. I was put on a voice mailbox of a person who supposedly handles this area of the business. 2 days later I have heard nothing, I sent an email today filling out their online form to request the information and got no response today.
I don!t care how good a product is if you choose to ignore potential customers simple requests for information about your product I think that says it all about your business.
In my opinion there is no excuse why someone can!t get back to me in 2 days with the information. I left my phone number where they could reach me.
There is plenty of competition for replacement windows out there and I am sure most companies will treat a potential customer better than Gorell does.

I had used the web to contact Gorell regarding contractors in Massachusetts. As I recall it took a couple of days to hear back from someone. It wasn't lightning fast but nor did I feel it was glacial slow. The person I was put in touch with was Phil Coleman who is the owner of Collegiate Window Systems out of the Worcester area. His phone # is 508 755 8808. Phil has been very professional in regards to arriving to appointments on time, returning phone calls, helpful on option decisions etc. That's a lot more then I can say about the local outfit who installs the windows that everyone is so high on at this site.
If you'd like to know how it all turns out in the end let me know. Phil will be installing 14 Gorell 5300 double hungs in my house sometime in the next week or two

I believe Gorell went out of business years ago and then restarted in 1994. I hope I am not confusing them with someone else but I don!t think so.

You might have better luck with the e-mail you sent. That is how I inquired about a dealer for my area and someone did get back to me by phone after 1 full day. Do you have an answering machine? If not, maybe they have tried contacting you when you were out. Hope you here from them soon.

Gorell is actually the son of the owner of the old Season-all company. Same plant just changed the name.

It depends on how you look at it. Seasonall was bought and sold twice, with the last company eventually closing the plant. At this point, it appears the Gorell family had been removed from the company entirely. The son then pulled together some money and started a new company (Gorell) after buying the closed plant. So, while they may have a history with Seasonall, they are not the same company, and neither is the management that more than likely refused you service. For a nice read on the company, see the link.

I thought I did see somewhere that when he re started the business that he brought back the same employees that had worked for the company previously. So while the business name hads changed it would appear that the rest is the same.

True, but I think it's important to note for the original poster's information that there was a period of time when the family was not involved in the company. This may have been when she experienced problems, and the current Gorell company should not be blamed for that. Otherwise, we're in total agreement.

The Gorell family had no involvment with Season-All when it went under. They had sold the company to a canadian company who dismantled the business. The Gorells started their own business in the town that contributed to their success years earlier, and hired many of the past production workers that had led to their earlier success.
If YOU sold your thriving business, and the new owners ran it into the ground, would you want to be held responsible in the public eye for problems that occured after you sold the company?? Be reasonable people. This is an outstanding company, and good people too.

Where does Gorrell fit in the pricing scheme of vinyl replacement windows? Budget, midrange, premium?

Burke,
They are between mid-range and premium. They are of similar quality to Certainteed Bryn Mahr, Simonton's Platinum, and many other company's "top of their line" windows.
