We just got a quote from empire on having 15 double-hung windows installed. There quote was $9000. Basically,$600 a window. Does this sound reasonable?

Kathy -
I might be wrong but I believe the Empire windows are made by Simonton - I'm not positive about that though.
If they are then this sounds sorta high compared to general averages. Since it's Empire I presume you're in the Chicago area. If so, I'd suggest that you search around a little more as I believe that you could find a better deal overall.

She could be anywhere in the Upper Midwest Art. We have them here in MN also. Empire is huge. They install carpet, flooring and a boat load of product. I'm a bit leery on them as they are reaching out into to may trades. I can't really offer any opinion because I haven't really seen enough jobs to form an opinion. I think Art's right on the Simonton window though. I would need to know who makes the window and what level it's at. Otherwise the price is at least in the ballpark.

You state that Empire is throughout the upper midwest. That makes sense since the upper midwest is a Chicago suburb - right? LOL!

They switched to Alside the Simonton rep who has been since been fired blew that deal
