Window World 4000 vs 6000

Posted At: 2004-07-22 14:13:01

Trying to decide between Window World 4000 vs 6000. I realize the 6000 is the better window but I like the 4000's slimmer profile. Is the 6000 that much better of a window that I should forgo the slimmer profile look of the 4000.

As for my Window World choice, they won hands down on pricing. Replacing 14 36X64 Windows PPG Solarban 60 Low E Argon Glass wrap brick mold, etc 4200. Quotes for same thing from another local dealer was 5,200 and from remodelsearch.com 6,200. Window World dealer and reps also seemed very professional. Local presence lots of good references.

You mean Window World's low end cheaper window isn't $189 like their advertising says? Yours comes out to $300. per window. That doesn't sound fair.

The 4000 is the mid range they have a 2000. I could get the $189 price if I didn't want low e glass value $60.00 pack and didn't want brick mold wrapped $50.00.

Oh, I get it now, thank you. They advertise a low price to get themselves into house and then get me on adding all the stuff to give me normal job. Thanks for the information, as I was wondering what the catch was. I think I get estimates from somebody that doesn't use that kind of sneaky selling though. Kind of makes me uneasy.

Hey Pete,

I went with the 6000 series and am very pleased with the professional job that they did. Price came out to about $290 per window which was a heck of alot less than anyone else. The 6000 is a bulkier window but we had pretty large setbacks in our walls for the window and it didn't really make that much of a difference.

As for the $189 special - it exists if you want completely no frills. Still a decent window for someone with limited income.
