Re: Look of Starmark on Vinyl siding.
They did use a nail fin. I replaced vinyl windows, so I needed a nail fin installation. The siding on my house has no foam underneath. It is the wood shell of the house (which is where the nail fins are) and is covered in tar paper and then the siding. That is why the window sticks out so much. The ...

Look of Starmark on Vinyl siding.
The installation of the Starmark windows in my home is mostly done. Other than repair work to the concrete around the basement windows, there is just a punch list of small fixes. However, I am not thrilled with the look of the Vinyl windows along the side or back of my house where their is vinyl sid...

We are in middle of our whole house starmark window installation. They are being installed as new construction windows on 3 sides of the house (the front is brick and it is being installed as a replacement window in the brink openings.).
They are using pella flashing tape.

Re: Window replacement
CBG, Do you happen to be in Marlboro Manse? Those look like windows and the homes there. I live there as well. I am using Ace Aluminum to replace all the windows. I am getting Starmark EVO windows. All the experts here think they are great windows. All the windows with vinyl siding are getting a new...

Re: Is it okay to install vinyl retrofit windows over vinyl new construction windows?
We have a similar situation in our new home. The front is brick and the side/back is siding. Vinyl new construction windows. For the sides and back, a full new construction install is being performed. They are removing the siding and installing the new window directly to the frame of the house. For ...

Re: Pella 250 Sunrise or Okna
We had over 30 windows to replace and were quoted $650 a piece for Pella 250s installed. We were also quoted $1200 a piece for Pella Lifestyle. We got this price through a Pella Master Contractor that I found on their website. I also got a quote from Pella themselves. It was more than double the pri...

Re: Estimates have come in
We ended up ordering a door from a contractor who specializes in doors. I paid $6600 for a 8' tall door very similar to the picture I posted without glass. That price includes the door with glass (10 or so types to choose from) and screens (the glass can swing open), handles and a lock plus installa...

Re: Estimates have come in
Those are the actual entry doors. There is glass where the is an opening. I think one of the pictures is before the glass is inserted.

Re: Estimates have come in
Well, the soft-lite dealer had told me $6600 installed. However, the Starmark EVO dealer, told us around $8K. I mentioned the price from the soft-lite dealer and he said he will see what he can do once we pick a specific door.
We haven't decided yet.

Re: Estimates have come in
Never heard back from soft-lite dealer. He did call a few time and ask me some questions. Gave me the impression that he wasn't on his game. Keep promising an estimate and never delivered. So, I signed the Starmark EVO contract today for the windows and patio door. We still want a wrought iron front...
