Re: Windows replacement - Recommendations please

I've not been selling and installing but a few uniquely optioned Sunrise Vanguard projects per year since I'm in OKNA's backyard feel that their product fits my marketplace and preferences. I use to get a really nice full size Vanguard brochure that had most of the information in it similar to the ...

Re: Windows replacement - Recommendations please

I'd also vote for the Sunrise. That dealer sounds like he's trying to set you up for success with that lead time, perhaps he'll be able to install earlier and everyone is happy. I'm not a huge fan of the Provia window and that lead time is concerning as DM mentioned. Either they are lying, or there...

Re: Windows replacement - Recommendations please

The Sunrise is better than the Aspect. I'm a direct certified dealer for both and still install both of those series. Those u-factors are off a bit too, maybe center of glass and not overall? On a standard Sunrise product (white or tan), Sunrise's lead times are pretty fast now. 3-4 weeks depending...

Good Day to all, After spending some time and getting quotes from multiple companies; I have narrowed down my final list to the below options. To give everyone an idea about my project I am giving the measurements below. Windows rough opening measurements. 2nd floor 1 Twin unit 71.25 x 59.5 Full fra...

Re: Sunrise Vanguard Weep hole

HomeSealed wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 12:48 pm I agree with the others, a sloped sill with no weep holes is good practice on double hung. Its pretty much unavoidable on sliders, but that's also on reason why most pros prefer double hung and casements over sliders.
Thanks HomeSealed.

Re: Are prices of windows going up?

Not only have prices gone up, Window Nerd's comment about them going up several times per year should be emphasized. Certainly there are many factors that may dictate the timing of your decision, but based on price alone, I'd move forward ASAP once you are ready and feel confident in your choice. T...

Re: Sunrise Vanguard Weep hole

I've been installing regular Sunrise base and Vanguard series DH units since 2004 and have never had one not irrigate water correctly as designed with the pitched sill. I've had issues with one of the patio sliding doors that was installed into a hostile on the river storm area that can have some w...

Re: Sunrise Vanguard Weep hole

I agree with Randy. The Vanguard is a higher end window and well designed. Windows that utilize weep holes are poorly designed and its cheaper for the manufacturer. The Vanguard drains water under the screen just like a wood window. Weep holes are “ pocket sill “ designs and are more prone to clogg...

Re: Sunrise Vanguard Weep hole

Randy wrote: Sat Mar 05, 2022 9:16 am Single or double hung windows should not have weep holes. They are a sign of a poor design in anything other than sliders. Keeping water out of the sill will help prevent leaks, not increase the likelihood.

The Sunrise Vanguard is an upper line of vinyl windows.
Thanks Randy.

Sunrise Vanguard Weep hole

Good Day to all, I received a demo and quote for Sunrise Vanguard line of windows. In the demo I noticed that this line does not have any weep holes. The dealer mentioned that this is by design and not to worry about rain water accumulating as the sill slope will take care of the water going off eve...

Are prices of windows going up?

Good day to all,

I am in market (Louisville, KY) and am trying to get some quotes for replacing 6 windows (2 twin units and 2 single units). I am hearing that Simonton is raising their prices by 8 % from March 8th. Did anyone hear the same?

Thanks in advance.
