Perhaps I was not clear enough in my answer...I was speaking of the use of Loe3 IN GENERAL in California. To me it was so obvious that 8K was ridiculous that I didn't even address it. Of course, whether or not it is a good value depends on the price you will pay for the option as well. However, if y...

Hi Md from Cal, As far as the Loe3 goes, whether or not it will lead to lower energy costs depends on which area in California that you live. Generally speaking, if you live in an inland area where your summer cooling costs out-pace your winter heating costs, then it is a good value for you. If the ...

I did read this post and contacted Allbrand regarding this job. As if often the case, there is more to the situation than is on the post. I understand that Allbrand has contacted the customer and they are working on the issues involved, and I am confident that they will come to some resolution. Allb...

Polybau USA was founded in the late 80's by the same people who own Polybau Austria. It was sold to local ownership in 1992, and has not changed hands since then. Although we did move to a larger facility in 2004, no ownership change was involved. Funny how these rumors get started.....

Polybau does NOT have a window named Malibu. A few years ago they called the 400 series window by that name, but have ceased to use it due to unintentional infringement on another manufacturer. Old habits are sometimes hard to break, and perhaps the salesman you saw still called it by that name. I b...

Earwax is correct - this is Cardinal's new product. You may have noticed that they recently changed the numbers on their coated products from 170 to 270, 172 to 272, and 140 to 240. This is the groundwork for their new product coming out next year that will start with "3". This is to desig...

To Windowman 2000 and FenEx: Over the past year I have read your posts with great respect for your knowledge of windows and the industry, but I must tell you that you are way off the mark as far as the West Coast goes. To say that a premium window is not available out here is simply wrong. Would you...

OMG- I usually don't respond to this debate, but in the interest of objectivity I checked out a few of amore 123's links that supposedly prove his/her point. The first one lists mostly 1999 references that state that vinyl windows are on the decline - we all know how that turned out. The next one is...

Polybau's sliding door is a bit more expensive than others on the market because of the upgrades added to it. For example, the door slider track is a full polycarbonate track instead of a vinyl track with a stainless steel cover like most other doors. This track is what allows the sashes to move so ...
