trim wrap anderson bend

Got a call for a siding job, customer asked me If we could make an "anderson bend" in the coil for the window wrap.... Anyone know what an Anderson bend is?? Is this maybe a geographic term for something I already make and call by a different name?? Thanks

While we are on the subject anyone care to share their favorite way for removing outside stops? Ive used fancy rotary tools, jamb cutters, cordless circular saws. Anyone have a fast relatively easy way? Or some sort of jig?

I do it which ever way is easier. Most of my installs are from the inside, however if there is really detailed molding, or the interior stops are not easily removed, I will install from the outside. The main thing is the way the installer feels most comfortable with and will gaurantee everything loo...

It all depends on the way it is installed. Wrapping should be applied with the least amount of sealant possible required to ensure that water doesnt get behind it. The wrapping should be nailed so that it is firmly attached but not so tight that it could oil can. Where the trim wrap meets the siding there are two ways which i handle it. 1 way is to use a saw to cut a groove between the brickmould and the siding to slip the coil into, I then caulk where the sid...

The Harvey Majesty is an excellent window performance wise and operates well, however IMO the wood sashes tend to look kinda bulky and the grain selection isnt perfect. Its a really solid window though and I have been installing a lot of them lately.

Its called a flush fin replacement. If done properly it will perform the same as a full rip out that is done properly. A flush install will cost less, however you will lose some glass area. A full rip out will cost more and you will have about the same glass area that you have now. The key in both c...
