Pella Retractable Screen

I just ordered two Pella casement windows for my Kitchen. Does anyone have any thoughts on the rollscreens? The sales guy kind of steered me away from it saying that it takes up more window space? I love the idea of the roll screen in that location but I do not want to lose glass. Anyone knowledgeab...

Pella-Dealer vs. Lowes

Lowes has a similar product to all of Pellas windows, for quite a bit less. Different names but sameproducts? Does anyone know the differences?

windowrep, I do have a window that I am going to need to replace. I have received quotes from Loewen, Eagle, Pella and Anderson. All but Pella were tearouts. Pella was the highest with the others in the same ballpark. I really dont want an Anderson though and I have read some bad things about Loewen...

One more thing. Your customers might appreciate it if you did recommend storm windows (in certain cases) instead of full replacements. Just a thought that might bring you more business.

Thanks windowrep, good luck to you as well. It has been fun!

Oh, and one more thing for you too, are you saying an extra .15 in U value is worth and extra $600 per opening?

The energy efficiency of windows is normally measured using a U-Value, which is the “tendency” of heat energy to flow through the total window system. The U value of an Anderon 400 series window = .35 The U-Value of a standard single-glazed wood double hung window is about 1.12. The U-Value of a sta...

windowrep, an earlier poster brought up the fact that storm windows decrease property values. Marcie and I are just showing him and whoever else that that is not the case. Oh, and no two homes are identical in my subdivision as I would venture to guess is the case in all subdivisions across the Unit...

I dont buy into the whole "storm windows will decrease property values". I live in a neighborhood where home prices range from 700K to well over a 1000K. Prices continue to go up. Many, many of the homes have storm windows and as Marcie stated they are not easy to notice. One thing I like ...

Fenex, good post. However, I am not quite sure that I agree with all of what you say. I personally like storm windows because they protect my windows, thus the reason that the windows that were put on my house when it was built in 1964 are still in very good shape. Without the storms the house would...

Yes, I did WANT new windows and I agree that most people who buy new windows do have a good reason to do so. But none of the reasons you listed are the posters reasons. Her reason for considering new windows is the result of a salesman telling her to get new windows. In fact she says her windows are...
