Re: [Vid] Management denies my window has issues. Am I wrong?

There are a few simple adjustments to the hinge and hardware that can pull that window a bit tighter prior to engaging the latch. In the meantime, I wouldn't keep forcing it as that will only damage the window in question. I would apply a bit of inward closing force by pulling the sash in, in the me...

Re: Higher CFM after window replacement

+1. Tape them off and see if you can get a blower door infiltrometer and run some smoke and volume tests. I think the regular series do pretty well. I have heard about some high numbers out of their replacement series windows. HomeSealed has specifically gone in and replaced "new" RBA unit...

Re: Higher CFM after window replacement

That's no good.

We actually did a CFM 50 test on a home, before and after, after an install of about 28 Okna 800 windows, and the CFM number dropped by 1400 cfm. Home actually got to minimum ACH number.

Tempered is required inside of wet areas so most bathrooms require it.

Most likely a window world window. Any other stickers on it?

Pictures of the interior and exterior?

Re: Milgard Styline vs CDA vs Andersen vs Marvin -- cant decide

Unfortunately...we don't get the Milgard windows out here on the East Coast so I haven't seen any of their new offerings.

What was the DP number on the MIlgard. That should tell you a good bit about the frame and security of it.

Sill being rotted doesn't require a full tear out...just as a point of record.

But the window decision is mostly in your decision tree. What did you like as a material?

Re: Help! with first time window id for a matching sash kit

Insert = a window with a fame that is put inside the prior wood frame of the old window after the sashes and jamb liners are removed

Sash kit = just sashes and jamb liners without a frame

Sash kit will give you a bit more glass, but is harder to install and get fit into the opening perfectly.
