buying companies
I find it intersting that Anderson has to buy companies. When they bought Eagle I said they had to buy a company inorder to make a good window. Now we will see how long before they cheapen Eagle pretty good quality to bring it down to the Anderson so so level.

go with the Schuco
If you can afford the extra 65 per window you would be doing yourself a favor today and tomorrow. It is like comparing a ford with a lexus. Yes they will both be an improvement and do your job but the Schuco has better performance stats, looks better both inside and out and has less repair stats. Wh...

Your quoting lines of Simonton is incorect. The HD line ANd the Sears line is the same (5500 series) The prisum line (6500) is a step above but the top Simonton line is the Impressions line (9800) that is the only one that you can get the triple pane glass

Putting apple to apple the loewen will be the best choice for you in Northern MN. They are all Dougls fir as opposed to the pine of the marvin, kolbe, anderson etc. PLUS you can go to triple pane with them. If you are doing vinyl replacements then one that has triple pane would be your best choice. ...

simonton
By going with the simonton especially if you go with the impressions 9800 series you can get 3pane glass. The product, performance and service are much more assured than the company you were comparing. As a side note there are only a select few companys that can offer the top line of Simonton even t...

brands
Dealing with all 4 of the brands you are leaning toward THE CLEAR choice would be Loewen. The discussion of service comes up but the fact of the matter is Loewen has only 1 service call a year for manufactures isues compared to 10 for Marvin, eagle or especially Pella or kobe. If you go into the cas...

Which is better
Comparing the Arch series to the quality that Eagle makes is no comparison. Eagle winds hands down. The clading as stated above is more than just aluminum foil. the edges where they meet are fitted not just wrapped. they also seal the joints thus keeping moisture out. Glass they are equal, blinds th...

I also live in MN home to both Anderson & Marvin. Comparing the two I would sugest you look at Eagle made in Iowa. They are head and shoulders above the other two in all aspects.

cost
Your window width is very small to put a slider in. You should consider a casement window instead of the doubl hung if you want a change. As for cost in the higharche of cost, Sliders are the least expensive, then doubl hung and then the most costly is the casement. Hope that helps you!
