It is not better in all metrics, the air and U-values are pretty much the same, only in DP ratings is it better.
The Dp rating on the 7500 is superb but it’s overkill in most applications .

Re: Clad Wood Windows for new addition in New Orleans
I’d rule out the Pella and the Andersen 400 and perhaps the elevate. The Pella. Is designed poorly, the 400 uses outdated jambliners, the Elevate looks clunky. The Marvin ultimate has the Most traditional looks, the Andersen A-Series and Woodwright look great As well. The Ultimate is aluminum clad ,...

Re: replacement casement window options?
No it is not , the Sunrise and Soft-Lite will do every thing you need, the Okna might perform a little better if you get cat 5 hurricane and perhaps the looks suit you better. The 5o year warranty is laughable and meaningless.

Re: replacement casement window options?
Seems it would only make sense that have more published engineering on a size others don’t carry.

Re: Expectation vs. Reality
Reducing sound sometimes needs more of a systematic approach as the window is only part of the assembly.

Vulkem 116 in limestone can be a good match match. It is textured and a very good product. It is best to put it on without tooling.

Re: Request for advice please. Damaged windows during install
The others don't look like cracks either.
If it is indeed a crack than the component needs to be replaced.

Re: Replacement Quotes - Recommendations
If all things being equal on the installer and dealer side of things I’d go with Simonton. It May be dated but it is not a bad window . Is the Okna worth $500 more per hole? The answer is no. The 5500 is dated and bulky but a solid window

“It doesn’t matter what flashing tape you use” is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard in awhile.

Re: Casement Quotes/Advice - *Follow-Up After Install*
The screens look horrible, the clean up should have been done before they left. The cladding is a rookie mistake. How long is that bottom sill, if it is less then 10’6” it should be 1 piece. Appears to be gaps in the caulk. Not a fan of the caulking where the casing meets the sill , I prefer none wi...

Re: Flashing tape?
Not sure what’s the best but I use Pella tape on the sides and top and dupont flexseal on the bottom.
There are many good ones out there, I am a fan of 3m products as well. Tape should not be asphalt based.
